Today we’d like to introduce you to Katrina Reeves.

Katrina Reeves

Hi Katrina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Back in 2017, once I turned 21, I started to go out to different events and venues with friends. By then, I already lived in Florida, DC and Los Angeles and had a diverse music experience that I felt I could bring to the venues back home in Minnesota. Plus, at the time, you didn’t see many woman DJs, which heavily inspired me. I became motivated to learn the art and technical skills of being a DJ. By 2018, I booked my first event for the University of Minnesota Kappas. Fast forward to 2025, now located in Atlanta, I have expanded to working with artists, playing at festivals, concerts and events around the nation!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every journey comes with its highs and lows. There’s a lot to quickly learn once you decide becoming a DJ is what you want to do. Some challenges I faced, I’d say, are balancing my personal and professional life and trying to do/handle everything myself. I can be overly independent at times and I had to learn that it’s okay to find community and ask for help/guidance. There’s a lot of more experienced DJs willing to help you along your way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a highly experienced, professional DJ that specializes in events and clubs. I’m known for my passionate and vibrant personality that compliments my style of DJing. I’m most proud of my resilience and recovery from any personal and technical challenges I have faced in my 6+ years. My energy in the DJ booth is what sets me apart from others, I genuinely love and care about what I do and it shows.

Any big plans?
I plan to expand my brand to new national and international levels! I want to take my online content more seriously and really showcase my skill to a wider audience, as well as start taking steps to eventually begin curating my own events between Atlanta and Minnesota.
