Rising Stars: Meet Kayla Everett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Everett.

Hi Kayla, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Healing Galaxy, LLC. in 2020 during the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic as a way to bring in another stream of income as I saw how jobs that were not classified as “essential” were being closed or shut down. I had always wanted to have my own business since I was a kid, but I never really had the time or at least I THOUGHT I never had the time. So while working from home, I used that downtime to test some things out and from there, the rest is history.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road. In fact, it has been the complete opposite of smooth. There have been a plethora of struggles along the way, but there will be struggles in life, so I try not to let that get me down.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am currently a high school teacher that teaches ELA (English Language Arts) and I am a cheerleading coach. I am most proud of how I can engage and build rapport with my students. What sets me apart from others is my ability to be relatable and adaptable in any situation.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising that most people who know me or work with me might not know about me is that I have another degree that is outside of education. It is in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Radio, Television, and Film.
