Today we’d like to introduce you to Keosha Shealey
Hi Keosha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name started in 9th grade. I had to do a business project, and that project was a restaurant. The name of it was Kiyomi’s Wonderland. It was going to have four different types of food in its own space in one building. I have always liked the name Kiyomi, which means pure beauty in Japanese. so that name never left me. fast forward to 7-8 years ago, I started to get into all-natural things like herbalism and making my own soap. I always wondered what was in my soaps and if I could do it, so I started to do my research and found out that most big companies’ soaps were made of detergents and chemicals. I didn’t want that for my body so I had to DIY it. then I got pregnant with my youngest child and wanted to start making soaps for him from the beginning of birth.. then after that, I wondered if I could make this into a business and that what I did my family members would buy from me.. some of my mom friends would buy from me. now I sell to my patients at a office I work at
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
no, it has not been a smooth road sometimes I would go months without making anything.. having an idea of what I want to make but don’t always have the drive to do it because life happens I’m always on the go with my kids.. then some times it not having the right people in your corner to get you going or having like-minded mines that can give you the knowledge and keep you motivated
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
i work in the healthcare field at a pain management office. I spealize in everything in that office from the front desk to check out to the back office. we do procedures there so I can do IVs the post-op and the procedure room where we have to operate the C-arm.. what I’m known from there is I’m always the consistent person who’s been there the patient is always looking for me because they know I will get it done, they can talk to me about anything its like they are family.. what sets me apart is I support them and they support me.. my patients and my team.. what I most proud of is that im that person they can come to about anything
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
