Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristoffer Leshaun.
Hi Kristoffer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started like a lot of artists, singing in church and school talent shows until I got older and started traveling and getting opportunities to sing on larger stages and performing overseas. I realized then that singing on stage in front of people was the only place I felt safe to be my free-spirited, fun, and spiritual conscious self. I felt free from any judgment or cares I was always afraid of facing. I started writing about my experiences in life and anything that comes to my mind that needs to be said. I am particularly a strong believer in true love and love stories for all people, no matter who you love. That inspired me to began performing on different stages in the area and got me a lot of exposure. One day a guy messaged me and asked if I would write and perform a song for his girl while he proposed to her. The song hit me like an ocean wave. This moment birthed out my first single “I Do”, a song of my interpretation of what a marriage and true commitment is all about. After my first single, I got even more exposure and opportunities to sing and perform on more stages. I am now currently working on my first EP “The Romance Journey”. It is about the romantic love journey and relationships that everyone has experienced. The good ones and the toxic ones. I am singing about it all. I realize that my singing is influential and able to shape the world in a whole new light.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been easy for me pursuing my career in music. It actually has been really hard. I have experienced a lot of letdowns from others as well as from myself. I battled with loss, lack of support, and even self-doubt. I don’t look like them, or I don’t sound like them, or what if people don’t like what I have to say or my style. What if people won’t support me based off who I am dating or who I choose to love. I had to learn to own my stuff and be proud of my own skin. You’re right; I don’t sound like them. I sound, look and perform like me. I am the greatest verse of myself and I love every bit of it. Now it’s time for me to share and bless the world with this dope ass version of me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a singer/artist. I won’t put myself in a certain genre of music because my voice and style fits it all. I am currently working on my EP and booking more shows in the Northern area and expanding to the west coast. I am Kristoffer LeShaun! A soulful, vibrant artist that is full of wisdom and experiences and a voice that can have you vibin in the club or sipping on some wine on the couch in deep thought about romance. I can do it all and will do it all. That’s what sets me apart.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I am a healthcare professional and the past two years have been the hardest time of my life. Processing all the loss that Covid 19 has brought to so many people. This pandemic has taught me to value and appreciation every day that I am allowed to see. Don’t wait until later. Achieve those goals! Make that dream a reality now! Don’t allow worry and doubt to rob you of the day. Conquer the day!
