Rising Stars: Meet Kthemogul of Columbia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kthemogul.

Hi Kthemogul, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey started with a genuine love for music, culture, and conversation. As a child I was raised by entertainers who opened my eyes to so many avenues, dancing, singing, producing and more. I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, highlighting people, moments, and sounds that deserve more attention. That passion led me into radio and media, where I built my voice as a host by creating spaces that feel authentic, engaging, and culturally relevant.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most creative journeys, there’s been a lot of trial and error, figuring things out without a blueprint, learning on the fly, and pushing through moments of self-doubt. One of the biggest challenges I’ve had has been staying consistent while wearing so many hats at once, especially in an industry where visibility doesn’t always come immediately. Of course I have my artist blocks, and moments where I feel like i’m not doing enough, and i’m still working on that along the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a media host, creative, and artist working at the intersection of music, lifestyle, and culture. I currently host Mogul Hours, which airs Monday through Saturday on Hot 103.9/93.9, and that’s been one of my proudest accomplishments, building and sustaining a consistent on-air platform.

Beyond radio, I host and curate live experiences, including my event series The Function, where we bring together DJ sets, vibes, and networking to create intentional spaces for creatives. I’m focused on continuing to grow these events throughout the Carolinas and beyond.

What sets me apart is that I’m not just covering the culture, I’m part of it. I’m also an artist creating my own music and digitizing graphics and media, which allows me to connect with creatives from an authentic, firsthand perspective and approach everything I do with intention and real understanding.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, For creatives and hosts like me, Bigger opportunities to build personal brands that aren’t just about being on-air or online, but about creating experiences and connections that resonate in real life. The big shift im looking forward to is always more community impact no matter what.
