Rising Stars: Meet Kylie Noel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kylie Noel.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From small-town Louisiana, I never thought my dreams would have taken me this far. I always took my education seriously, graduating with a 4.5 GPA. So naturally, the next step was college at Louisiana State University in 2016. Struggling financially in college, I decided I needed a job but didn’t have time for a “real” job. So I took my best friend’s suggestion and started doing makeup out of my college apartment kitchen. They always saw my potential as a makeup artist even when I didn’t. Of course, I didn’t start off the best, but I was determined because this was how I was eating! After a while, my grades declined but my makeup clients increased. I was inspired by some young, upcoming makeup artists’ success in Atlanta and stepped out on faith and dropped out of college to fully pursue my dream as a makeup artist. Scared but also optimistic, in June of 2018, I moved to Atlanta with $3,000 that I saved from doing makeup.

I then went to esthetician school in Atlanta so that I could be knowledgeable about skin and makeup while also doing makeup out of my apartment bedroom that I shared with my cousin. Between word of mouth from my classmates & consistently posting on Instagram I slowly built a small clientele. I never stopped working no matter how tired or discouraged I was by the ups and downs of my clientele and the beauty industry. By 2019, I was booked and busy! And then the pandemic happened. I had so much time to study, revamp & reflect. As soon as things were back to normal, I went to work, none stop. And that consistent work, even through trials and tribulations, got me where I am today. All in all, I had a vision, I wrote down a plan, and I executed step by step, hoping for this end result, and never gave up!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This road was a roller coaster to say the least. One week you could have 20 and the next week you could have 2. But knowing my family was already skeptical shìt me dropping out off college, I knew I had no other choice but to push and try to succeed. The pandemic also completely stopped everything. I had to move out of the salon I was working at basically start from square 1 when things were back to normal. I was also so lonely, but for the most part, I occupied my time & mind with makeup to distract from that. I guess you could I had tunnel vision!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional makeup artist. I specialize in & am known for my soft glams. And my soft but precise brows. I’m most proud of my come-up story. I’m really still in disbelief daily that I actually am living my dream right now. Working with people and seeing things that I would’ve never seen had I stayed I college. What sets me apart from others is my integrity and customer service. I treat every client like a star, and for that, they support me to the fullest today. Even the ones that I haven’t serviced since 2016.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
