Rising Stars: Meet Lauren Woodyard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Woodyard.

Hi Lauren, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Let’s just say my cousin, Katelyn Malachi, and I went through some very challenging periods in our lives where we had to decide what we wanted. Being retired athletes, naturally, the gym became our outlet. Katelyn and I live only a few minutes away from each other in our hometown in Orange County, so it was easy to go to the gym together consistently. We started documenting our progress on social media and received a plethora of positive feedback. We made the commitment to better ourselves not only physically but mentally, through mindfulness, meditation, and journaling and it was showing!

Katelyn f and I had been toying with the idea of starting a brand for a while, but in October 2022, we finally decided to drop our first annual BOOty Challenge! The BOOty Challenge is a lower body workout guide designed to tone and lift. We knew this would appeal to our following leading up to Halloween and other holidays closing out the year.

Our audience received the BOOty Challenge very well and it’s safe to say this drop was the first of many we plan on creating, along with clothing and much more!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
With every dream you’re chasing there are bound to be obstacles. With that being said, we have come across a few hurdles while creating 714 FIT; one of which is distance. Although we are from the same area in Orange County. The idea of 714 FIT came when I was in Atlanta! We both are constantly traveling, so finding the time to meet up and schedule zoom calls that align with our schedules and time zones can be challenging, but we always figure out ways to make it work!

The only other big challenge we have come across is ourselves. Doing something that is out of your comfort zone is, quite frankly, uncomfortable. Imposter syndrome was something we dealt with, especially in the earlier stages of creating our brand. We’ve both had moments where we questioned whether or not this would work. Pushing through those moments of doubt and getting comfortable with the uncomfortable has been vital to the success of our brand! This whole experience has been transformative. Seeing the success of our first launch has proven to us both that anything is possible once you stop limiting yourself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In short, we are a fitness and wellness space created to help get you to a happier and healthier you. We specialize in fitness programs for women on the go! We don’t like to overcomplicate things and believe in working smarter, not harder. We are proud of the intention we put into the workouts we created for you and believe that’s what sets us apart. One of the many lessons we have learned is that “what you focus on expands. What you concentrate on is what you see more of in life.” With that being said, every workout guide has a focus. We were very deliberate with how we designed our programs in order for our clients to get the most out of what we have to offer.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Katelyn is an athletic trainer and I’m a yoga instructor, but we are nursing students as well. As I mentioned before, we make fitness programs for women on the move with busy schedules. Most of our workouts do not take anymore than 30 minutes to complete! It’s important to note that just because these workouts are shorter, it doesn’t mean you won’t feel the burn! We designed these programs so our clients can get the most out of their day. We believe in working smarter, not harder!
