Hi Lav, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
From Atlanta, was in the Army. Started doing comedy in 1995 6. Seasons on comic view. Winner of Bill Bellamy’s “Who Got Jokes” on TVOne. Half Hour special on TVOne “Um Gone Get in Trouble” appeared in made for TV movie “Deadly Dispatch” currently in the Marvel movie “Secret Headquarters” opened for Maze & Frankie Beverly, Corey Holcomb, Earthquake, and many more.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some of the obstacles have been. Industry change. The internet made being an actual stand-up comedian marginal. Learning to navigate that new landscape. Reaching the people who your voice designates with.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Comedian, Improv artist, actor, professional host, motivational speaker, radio show host. What sets me apart is my work ethic and diverse skill set. The ability to excel at multiple disciplines under the comedy umbrella.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Use social media to your advantage. It can be the equivalent to having your own network. Wish I had known that a long time ago.
