Rising Stars: Meet Laylah Vital of Atlanta, GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laylah Vital.

Hi Laylah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey has never been about doing just one thing—it’s been about honoring the many ways I’m meant to build. From a young age I had a strong sense that my voice would be central to my work, particularly in empowering women.

While the path wasn’t always clear, the calling was always there. While in high school I co-founded an organization called women empowered, that was one of the first times I built a community, and after I graduated I’d only hope to do something like that again.

My journey started in more traditional spaces, learning structure, systems, and how things operate in business through a degrees in Management Information Systems, teaching as a coding instructor and later working in operations. At the same time, I was always creating—writing, observing, experimenting, and paying attention to what resonated with people.

A corporate role alongside building multiple ventures taught me discipline, adaptability, and how to translate ideas into execution . But more importantly, I learned there is so much more that I yearn for in life and that’s creating and building.

Over time, I realized I was most fulfilled when I was building ideas of my own and sharing what I was learning in real time. That shift allowed me to merge entrepreneurship, digital creation, and wellness into one ecosystem rather than separate pursuits.

A significant part of my building is rooted in wellness— As a foundation. Prioritizing mental clarity, adventures, rest and intention has strengthened how I lead, create, and show up consistently

It wasn’t until recently—through balancing corporate work, business ownership, and content creation—that I was finally able to finally build a community of my own and step fully into that early calling of empowering women through my voice and other contributions like my TikTok platform where I talk business resources , strategies , and more for women . Or my grant newsletter to help women find funding for their businesses.

Today, I’m focused on creating brands and platforms , communities that support growth both internally and externally.

I’m so excited for what’s to come this year and the years that follow, but I’m even more excited about the community I’m building and those I’m able to support . I’m building work that evolves with me rather than limiting me, all at the age of 24.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, largely because for a long time I was building without a strong foundation of wellness. Throughout school and at the start of my career, I adopted habits that normalized burnout—constantly juggling more than I should have been carrying and equating exhaustion with progress.

That realization didn’t come in isolation. Growing up, many of the women around me were always exhausted—strong, capable, and constantly giving, yet rarely encouraged to rest. Observing that dynamic made me more aware of how easily burnout can become inherited rather than intentional.

Over time, I understood that what I truly wanted to build required a calmer, more grounded state of mind. I began investing more intentionally in my wellness, not as a pause from building, but as a core part of it. This perspective now shapes how I show up on my digital platforms.

I’m intentional about speaking from a wellness lens because I don’t want to encourage behaviors that lead to burnout or unhealthy lifestyles. My goal is to model and advocate for building strategically and softly—creating success that is sustainable, aligned, and supportive of a full life, rather than one that comes at the expense of well-being.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I currently work in edtech while also building as a digital business creator. Much of my focus right now is on growing and nurturing a fast-expanding community through short-form content, particularly on TikTok, and expanding that presence across other platforms like Instagram.

Through digital creation , I am collaborating with some cool brands and companies that align with my values to help entrepreneurs gain more access—to information, resources, and opportunities that support both business and wellness growth. I’m especially intentional about bridging those two worlds, because I believe sustainable success requires attention to both.

In addition, I’m preparing for a product launch expected in late spring 2026, which I’m super excited about! It’s being designed with women entrepreneurs and builders in mind—something practical, grounding, and supportive of the journey so many of us are navigating!

Alongside that, I’m continuing to grow my hair brand, LuxLocs Extensions, which allows me to stay creatively connected while building tangible products rooted in community and confidence.

For those interested in staying updated on my projects and ongoing mission—or exploring opportunities to collaborate—everything can be found through my website and social channels.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I’m originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, but I’m proud to call Georgia home now. I always knew I’d end up in Atlanta—when I visited as a teen, I was immediately drawn to the culture, the food, the creativity, and the sense of possibility. There’s a rhythm to the city that encourages ambition.

What I love most about Atlanta is that you don’t have to be from here for it to feel like home. The city has a way of welcoming people in and giving them room to grow. Atlanta is where I’ve built community, found my voice, and laid the foundation for the work I’m doing now, so I’ll always have roots here. While my hope is for my businesses and platforms to reach well beyond the city, they’ll always be rooted in Atlanta.

And what do I love least? The traffic—without question. I’ve lost hours of my life sitting on Atlanta highways, and I’m fairly certain I’ll never get that time back (haha).
