Rising Stars: Meet Linda Franklin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Franklin.

Hi Linda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a child, I was always interested in fashion, I wanted to be a designer. In 2003 when ANTM aired, it was over from there… I started dabbling while I was in high school with a modeling program that was at my school. On February 28, 2021, I was in my first fashion show… The following month my mom passed away… I took some time for myself and came back in November 2021 and was in my second show and my 3rd that December… I took my pain and sadness and decided to turn it into something positive by going after my dream. I have not looked back since. I want to motivate and inspire others.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. I had to learn to get over my own insecurities and learn to truly love myself flaws and all… Besides, it wouldn’t be as much fun if it was too easy.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an Abstract painter and model. My art inspiration comes from Jackson Pollock. My modeling inspiration comes from Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks and all the Vogue magazines my mom would bring home. I am known for my smile, creativity, optimistic outlook on life and this super dope personality. What sets me apart from others? Well, watch me and support me on my journey and you’ll see as I grow.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Well, first and foremost, prayer is my number one go-to for all my problems because God got me. I read self-help books, I meditate, and I listen to positive affirmations daily. But the man upstairs brings me through everything every day because without God, where would I truly be?
