Rising Stars: Meet Lindsay Campbell of Griffin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Campbell.

Lindsay, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As far back as I can remember I’ve always loved beauty. I can remember giving makeovers on the playground in elementary school. I knew I wanted to make people feel beautiful. I graduated from Southern Crescent Technical College in 2005 as a master cosmetologist. I started my career doing hair, only to quickly discover it wasn’t for me. So, I began focusing on facials, and honing my craft with continuing education. I worked at a few day spas, but felt something was missing. If you got a facial at a spa, it was all “fluff”. If you went in for a more advanced treatment at a dermatologist office, it felt too cold and clinical. I thought, why can’t we merge the two worlds together? Clinical results in a relaxed spa environment. That’s ultimately what led me to open Blush Esthetics and Beauty Bar ten years ago. I started in a small office building, then moved into a hair salon. During this time I won several awards including esthetician of the year in 2019, and 2020. I had always dreamed of having my own space for Blush, but it just never seemed to happen. A little over a year ago a beautiful, historic building became available in my area. As a single mother, I was beyond nervous to take the leap of faith towards my dream. But, I did it anyway. I applied to get the building. I thought, no way will this work. I just kept telling myself, get through this part and if it happens then it’s meant to be. There were so many of “those parts”. So many sleepless nights not knowing if I could actually make it happen. I pushed forward anyway and refused to give up. After a few months of zero income, numerous loans, and moments of questioning my decision, I was approved. I cried tears of joy!! I had the vision, now it was coming to life. The next step was finding like minded individuals to share the space and collaborate creatively. I now have 5 people working along side me. I couldn’t be more grateful. It’s not easy, but it’s not supposed to be. Nothing great ever comes easily. But, it’s worth it. I’m so thankful and proud of myself for taking that leap. I’m truly blessed to be able to help men and women regain their confidence. It’s my purpose and mission.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s not been a smooth road, I’ve faced many obstacles including financial difficulties, self doubt, small town gossip and naysayers.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed esthetician of over 20 years. I offer results driven facials and customized home care routines. I’m known for my gentle touch, healing nature and knowledge of the skin and its conditions. I’m most proud of my tenacity and for chasing my dreams, no matter how scary. I believe my genuine care for my clients and my desire to go above and beyond sets me apart from others.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising that people may not know about me is, my genuine love of caretaking. I strive to have a relationship with all of my clients. A partnership aimed towards helping them achieve their goals. I also love to double as a listening ear or part time therapist. lol
