Rising Stars: Meet Lindsay Fox

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Fox.

Hi Lindsay, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always been a “people person” and have had a passion to serve and help others. I pursued a BA in Psychology because of this and started my career in social services by working as a case manager for a homeless shelter in Iowa. Life happened and I had to leave the social work field in order to provide for my family. Working 45-50 hours a week became stressful and draining and I was missing out on time with my children and still not making ends meet. I needed a change!

I decided with my life experiences, education and work experience I would step out in faith and start to build my own businesses. I see a need for mentorship in our communities for our youth, especially our young ladies, so this is why I decided to start mentoring/life coaching. I want to reach our high school and college-aged women, young single mothers and those who are or have experienced domestic violence/abuse, as I can personally relate, however, I will provide services to anyone interested and who feels they would benefit from working with me. I want to encourage, uplift, inspire and support as many individuals as I can.

Along with mentoring/coaching, I provide personal cheer coaching, as I was a high school cheerleading coach for two years and this was something I thoroughly enjoyed and wanted to continue. I also provide personal assistant and organizational services for individuals and professionals/businesses. Last but not least, my friend and I are building our FitSnax business.

As a single mother entrepreneurship felt like the best opportunity to turn my passions into purpose and be able to truly enjoy and love what I do while making a difference in others’ lives. Having the schedule to maintain a great work/life balance is such a blessing! If I can help just one person with my services it is worth it and I’m succeeding in the purpose I feel God has called me to.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Unfortunately, the road to entrepreneurship isn’t always easy. The struggle is building a clientele. When you are starting out with any business you have to gain trust from others and people have to be willing to take a chance with you, which can be a challenge at times, as there are many people offering similar services. With success comes sacrifice and challenges build character. Anything worth having takes hard work, determination and perseverance and I will keep pursuing my passion to serve and help others.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I provide mentor/coaching with an open mind, compassionate heart and listening ear. I can also incorporate Christian-based discussion/guidance if desired. I am experienced with domestic violence from personal experience and having a specialization from research during my social service work. I can provide cheer coaching for multiple areas – beginners, those wanting to improve motions and jumps, preparing for tryouts and basic stunting assistance.

Personal assistant and organization services are on a case-by-case basis depending on the services needed.

What I am most proud of is taking this leap of faith and getting out of my comfort zone to pursue my passions.

I feel what sets me apart is my compassion and heart to truly want to serve and help others. My coaching approach isn’t to have all the answers, but to provide support and guidance to equip individuals with skills needed and confidence in themselves to allow them to improve their lives in a positive manner. My personal assistant and organization goal is to provide support to lessen the burden of tasks that most people/businesses don’t have the time to do and need that extra hand to get things accomplished.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lessons I am learning are to be patient and don’t give up. It takes time for people to become aware of new services and businesses and build those relationships within the community and amongst people.
