Rising Stars: Meet Lindsay Jones of Woodstock, Georgia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Jones

Hi Lindsay, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born + raised in Maryland but relocated to Atlanta, GA for my professional career in 2023. I work for the world’s largest power tool corporation and Fortune 500 Company. I started my cupcake business in high school and still bake 10 years later. During my Undergraduate Studies at Salisbury University, I won $20,000 cash at my University’s Entrepreneurship Competition. I used that money to obtain my 501(c)3 Nonprofit License through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and started Cupcakes for Kindness, customized and tailored programming to our youth.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest challenge was just believing in myself and fully committing to my craft. It is imperative to keep the outside noise out and focus on yourself and your business. I encourage others to step out of their comfort zones and try new things. I would’ve never imagined that I would work in construction/power tool sales but it has shown me that I can do whatever I put my mind to.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love uplifting and encouraging those around me. I do this through Cupcakes for Kindness. Spreading kindness and awareness is imperative in today’s society. I host cupcake decorating classes throughout the community to encourage our youth to spread kindness.

What were you like growing up?
I loved playing sports, being outside and always being active. I grew up playing soccer, softball and lacrosse. I enjoyed spending time with family and friends throughout grade school and my Undergraduate studies. I enjoy traveling with my sister and parents to a new National Park every year.
