Rising Stars: Meet Lisa Lassiter of Southwest Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Lassiter.

Hi Lisa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My mother has always loved candles. She would buy them and burn them out so fast. Mothers Day 2020 I wanted to buy her a candle that she would love and not want to burn. I searched but I couldn’t find a candle special enough, so I made one. It was definitely her Favorite Candle. I turned that into My Favorite Candle. I found my passion when I started making candles. It filled me with peace and new happiness. My Mother eventually lit her candle, because she knew I could make another one. Now my goal is to buy her a house.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest struggle has been time management. Making time for myself, my family and my friends. I’m always making candles, promoting, packing orders, ordering supplies, answering emails, looking for ways to grow. I plan on setting a schedule and sticking to it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I make unique soy candles. My Favorite Candle candles are known for being too pretty to burn, but they smell so amazing that you don’t have to. I am proud of each and every like, follow, share, order, repeat customer, and review. I am proud of my brand. I am proud to create something that is given as a gift. Wedding gifts, Birthday Gifts.. it’s really special to be a part of someone’s special day.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see homemade candles replacing store brought candles. I see My Favorite Candle in every candle-loving household across America. Soy Candles are natural, and safe. Store brought candles contain toxic ingredients, and more people are becoming aware of that.
