Today we’d like to introduce you to Maelle Cassandre.
Hi Maelle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Shopmcboutiquee back in March 2020. It’s was in the middle of covid-19, I was broke, sad and I knew, I wanted to do something more with my life, I wanted to have a purpose.
It’s was difficult. I went through a lot of obstacles. For example, the website at first couldn’t accept payments from customers, Our products were stuck and couldn’t be delivered on time, Packages were lost. It was a mess. I almost gave up on my business.
Now, we are 1 year and a half in And I couldn’t be more happier. I Learned so much about myself, I’m now in university, learning business administration, because of that decision that I made in March 2020.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not a smooth road.
At first, my packages were stuck, took them 4 months to come in Canada, It was a nightmare to get them. Bought something over walmart, until this day, never received the products.
After, Because I was a minor, my website generator wouldn’t accept payments directly on the website. I had to take the payments manually trough bank transfer or as we call it in Canada Email transfer.
the problem kept coming, couldn’t get rid of my inventories because my customer didn’t trust me enough, because a lot of them could pay on the website, I was so discouraged that I closed my store back in July 2020. Re-opened my store in September and from there Months went by without any order. Made 200 $ in 5 months.
Now, just in October I Made that same amount in 1 day.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Right now I’m in university, Doing my bachelor’s in business administration.
I’m also dedicating myself full time to my business, it’s my full time job.
I think what sets me apart from others is my personality, people really like to be around me.
What matters most to you?
What most matters to me is God, my family, my relationships and my success. this is what makes me, ME. That’s what I live for.
