Rising Stars: Meet Mardy Price

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mardy Price.

Hi Mardy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well I’m from a small town in Florida called Polk City road growing up there was little to no opportunities to become successful with three streets and two was in the neighborhood. I used to hate being suck there as a kid but it gave me so much time to think of ways out so I started using my talents as a way out music became my outlet because anything else just wasn’t working. Being a troubled kid to a single mom of five I would act out all the time. Music became my safe place I would do talent shows and sell demos around the city. Moving forward I learned that you needed a team so I reach out to the meme agency which connected me to so many amazing people. They showed me how to move in the Atlanta music business so I began doing songs with everyone from Hurricane Chris, Lilzane, Lil Scrappy, Lil Boosie, and many more. Slimm Calhoun was my first major feature so from that point I was connected to so many great people. I decided to open my own entertainment company MP Entertainment and branded my name Mardy Price LLC as well which I’ve released so many songs with legendary artists on my label worked with great producers etc.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely wasn’t an easy road I’ve overcome so much I remember sleeping in my car at studios just to record music I’ve traveled with only enough money for gas back in the day but I believed in my dream just that much I’ve also been scammed out of lots on money by people in this industry that wasn’t who they said they are and much more you just have to take the good with the bad and keep going but I’ve never really had the silver spoon I’ve had to grind for everything I have today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As an artist and a business owner, I’ve learned the business side of the music business I’ve learned how to promote and push an artist to the max. I also I’m proud of opening my own label and as a youngster, I’ve always dreamed of being on bet my single with Boosie has been on bet jams which was an amazing accomplishment and what set me Apart from most artists and business people I’m willing to go that extra mile above and beyond to win.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important thing is if you surround yourself with people that don’t have a winning mindset you will not be a winner surround yourself around the people you want to become.
