Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Nicole.
Hi Mia Nicole, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a kid, I was always listening to music, doing choreography, writing poetry/songs, brainstorming creative ideas, etc. Most of these ideas came from my dreams, which I think is a really cool superpower. I discovered that I was really good at drawing and painting during art class in elementary school. Over time, I would work on different projects here and there. I have a collection of poems, songs, paintings, and more that I’ve created. I’m so proud, yet I’ve hesitated to share with the world.
On another note, I’ve always considered myself an athlete. In middle school, I remember being told that practice, practice, practice makes perfect. I knew that I couldn’t be perfect at every sport I participated in. I just wanted to be better. I wanted to be strong. I tried to stay active when I went to college, but life had different plans for me. In 2021, I decided to get back active in the gym consistently. This time, I wanted to feel good. I wanted to find out what I was capable of. I literally decided that I was my own competition. At that point, I opened an entirely new playing field for myself. All I had to do was shift my perspective. I would also look for different quotes that would help me make sense of the world around me. I developed a love for words and different points of view. I shared different quotes on social media and voice-recorded myself elaborating on different topics about personal growth and mental health.
During the pandemic, I found time to get back into my creativity. I began picking up on old projects like my podcast. I even collaborated with other artists and creators. Eventually, I found myself intertwined in all of these different things. I struggled for so long trying to decide what to focus on or which path to take. I would ask other people what I should do, knowing that I would need to figure it out on my own. I was running from myself. I was afraid of me. I was afraid that I would settle and make the wrong decision. Having to choose one thing didn’t sit right with me at all. The only way to make any of it work was by facing my SELF.
I asked my SELF, “What are you going to do with all of this?” Now, I see that all of these things are my Tools of Creativity for Self-Expression.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I constantly remind myself that life is not about the destination. The beauty is in the journey. My journey hasn’t been the prettiest or easiest, but it has showed me what I’m made of. We all have our highs and our lows. I’ve struggled with anxiety, depression, financial insecurity, and so much more. I’m sure others can relate. I pushed through. I went through the same situations over and over again until I learned what needed to be learned. I’m still learning every day. I survived what I needed to survive. Now, it’s time for me to live.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a multipotentialite with a deep sense of perception. I share my perspectives with the world through my blogcast, Sunflower Speaks. It is also an extension of who I am as I connect with others to inspire Self-Expression in its most authentic form. On my blogcast, you’ll find my projects, music, poetry, art, collaborations with Summer of 96’, etc. You will get a glance of me working behind the scenes as a creative director or on scene as a model. You can also read posts related to mental health, personal development, and fitness. There is something for everyone. The View depends on YOU.
I also currently work as a Personal Trainer at Crunch Fitness, where I encourage my clients to be their own foundation mentally and physically. It all starts with SELF. I create a space where they are safe to compete with themselves. I specialize in endurance, strength, balance, and mobility training. I do it FOUR Fitness.
I’m most proud that I never gave up on my SELF. Self is what separates you from everybody else.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Imagine yourself as a character in a movie, book, or game. Fear aside, money aside, support aside, etc. Only you can stop you. What do you see?
Become that character. Show up as that character. Create your SELF.
Do not be afraid of YOU. You will turn heads. You will make people uncomfortable. You will shake rooms. Stand out and be proud about it. Never dim your own light!
