Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Dorio.
Hi Michael, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My path into marketing actually started quite unexpectedly. I was working as a house manager for an affluent family in Buckhead. It was time for a change and to embark on a new growth opportunity in a different line of work. An old friend, Matt Rogers, had started and expanded SolutionBuilt in Marietta. They were a website and mobile app development-focused agency, and he saw the need for a digital marketing offering for his clients. I have always been interested in what connects society to brands, how we interact with the internet, and the ever-changing and evolving nature of technology. We had a long phone call, and with a very transparent understanding of my lack of any hands-on digital marketing experience, Matt offered me the opportunity to help grow the marketing arm. And Searched Marketing was born.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No agency work is ever smooth. That is to say, that the bumps along the road are not only expected, but welcomed. Without the struggles and hurdles, we do not adapt, evolve, and strengthen our digital marketing prowess and skill sets. It is what keeps us one step ahead and ready to serve our customers.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Digital marketing is such an expansive vertical with many paths, strategies, nuances, and objective and subjective practices. My biggest strength lies in technical and on-page SEO, how they relate to search results and search rankings, the concepts around developing, deploying, and optimizing rich and relevant content to bring online visibility to our clients and their businesses.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I have always been an extroverted person. I believe in engaging with others, whether it is business-focused or personal relationship building. At the end of the day, the two go hand-in-hand. Finding wonderful and trusted personal relationships can always lead to business opportunities and learning for any field you are in or interested in.
