Rising Stars: Meet Mim Chowdhury

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mim Chowdhury.

Hi Mim, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Bangladesh, and I moved to the United States after high school.

My passion is modeling: Runway, Print, Catalog, Editorial, etc. It debuted as early as when I was in high school, performing at World Cup Cricket Opening Ceremony. My exposure to Fashion Modeling happened in multiple areas; from runway shows in New York High Fashion Week in 2020 to the Botanical Garden in North Carolina to several runway shows in Atlanta. I got published in magazines, blogs, and newspapers multiple times. I also participated in movies, short films, music videos, etc. I worked with designers and brands like Dior Makeup, Elite Pour La vie, Bella Barnett, etc.

I also started to paint on canvas from the time I was around 14 and became more prolific with landscapes, objects, abstract patterns, etc. The stroking of the brush on the canvas makes me more aware of my surroundings; and develops my artistic sensibilities. It is a joy looking at all of my paintings hanging on the walls of our house.

I graduated from DeVry University with Multimedia Design and Development this year in April. I am currently also involved as a Freelance Multimedia designer.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I constantly endeavor to the challenge of taking any outfit and making it look flattering, desirable, and stunningly appealing. The challenge is always not to be ‘static’, and to evolve every day into someone more successful, having more influence on other people, and thus increasing the marketability of a product. The work never ends, and inspiration has no limits.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Fashion Modeling allows me to express my artistic abilities to their fullest imagination. Creativity has no limits, whether it involves flaunting an haute-couture dress or creating imaginative web designs online. The goal is to become more proficient in whatever I do and to be more successful in influencing consumers and shaping the trend.

Currently, I am a Content Creator and Influencer on Instagram.

How do you think about luck?
Luck is a seemingly undefined aspect of life. Let’s start with me…from the beginning. I was born in a culturally conservative country halfway around the world. If I would not have made my voyage to the United States, most possibly my passion for Fashion Modeling would not have been realized. It could be just luck, or it could be that I made good use of the opportunity that was presented to me. I think that ‘luck’ is presented to everyone at some point in some incremental way; the question is, how do we capture that exceedingly fleeting instance of our lives and develop the circumstance into a successful venture? Luck comes to us every day; the difference is how we react to it.
