Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Gallego.
Hi Monica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started doing makeup after completing a makeup artistry program at Industry Makeup Academy. I have since worked on weddings, specials events, fashion shows, short films, and photoshoots. I particularly enjoy doing makeup for photoshoots, as it allows me to be creative.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the beginning, it was. I was getting booked for photoshoots and special events. But now Covid, I had to step back from doing makeup and had to be very selective with the jobs I accept.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I would say I specialize in doing clean makeup looks. I also love doing editorial looks. It allows me to step outside the box and be more creative and be more artistic.
I’m very proud of having had my work featured in magazines. That was one of my main goals right after completing my makeup artistry program, and I was able to achieve that in less than a year of doing professional makeup.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I wouldn’t say it’s surprising, but not a lot know that I have 2 little boys.
