Rising Stars: Meet Mysterri Maxwell of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mysterri Maxwell.

Hi Mysterri, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when everything slowed down and I had the opportunity to reflect on what I wanted to build for myself. Creating content began as a creative outlet, but it quickly grew into a platform where I could share my voice, connect with others, and advocate for causes close to my heart—especially foster youth.

Over time, I expanded into YouTube and Twitch, using those platforms not only for entertainment but also for storytelling, community building, and advocacy. Modeling became another way for me to express confidence and reclaim my narrative, while continuing to show that people with lived experience in foster care can thrive creatively and professionally.

Today, I strive to be a multifaceted content creator who blends creativity with advocacy. Everything I do is rooted in representation, authenticity, and using my platform to uplift foster youth and amplify voices that are often overlooked.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Building collaborations and finding the right people to work with—especially in content creation and modeling—can be challenging and sometimes discouraging. Not every opportunity aligns, and access isn’t always easy. However, those obstacles have never stopped me from continuing to try, learn, and grow. Each challenge has strengthened my persistence and pushed me to keep creating, improving, and showing up for my goals.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work spans multiple creative platforms, including YouTube, Twitch, and modeling. I specialize in content that blends creativity, authenticity, and community engagement, whether that’s through long-form videos, live streaming, or visual storytelling. I’m known for being genuine, relatable, and for using my platforms to create safe, engaging spaces while also advocating for foster youth.

What I’m most proud of is building and maintaining this creative work while graduating from college. Balancing academics with content creation, advocacy, and modeling required discipline, resilience, and strong time-management skills. What sets me apart is my ability to juggle multiple roles while staying purpose-driven—using my voice not just to create content, but to represent and uplift others with lived experience.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is trying out for cheer when I was 10 years old. I remember how nervous and excited I felt walking into tryouts, not knowing what to expect but wanting it so badly. Learning the routine, pushing myself physically, and cheering alongside other kids made me feel confident and included. It was one of the first times I remember stepping outside my comfort zone and realizing I was capable of more than I thought, a feeling that has stayed with me ever since.
