Hi Neshema, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The birth of MelLur Skin came about from me just creating natural moisturizer and cleansers for myself, the big brands were not the best for my skin and I was tired of not being able to read what’s in it. So I started researching natural herbs, essential oils, powders, and a lot more natural products all of which we consume by mouth and are healthy. So I said to myself I have to turn these ingredients into an external use so that my body gets the proper healing inside and out, and that’s when my creativity came out in the kitchen with making Yoni soap bars, acne soap bars, body butters and shower gels. People close to me started to ask what I use because my skin was so vibrant and from there, I turned it into my business.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m actually just starting out and honestly, it has been smooth, staying consistent with my ingredients and seeing progress has been great. Promoting could be a little challenging trying to get it out there to people but overall still a smooth ride.

I’m the CEO of MelLur Skincare, 100% black-owned, and I create all-natural skincare and manifest candles. I specialize in all-natural skincare, from cleansers to moisturizers, as well as women’s health. I’m most proud of the growth of my business and shipping across country. What makes MelLur Skin different is the relationship I have with my business I pour myself into everything I create, I feed off of being able to heal naturally through skincare and in return, my business gives me the confidence to continue to create more, and as I love to say everything used in my products YOU CAN EAT!
