Hi Nykee, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a 20 years old music artist from Philadelphia. I went to the creative and performing arts high school of Philadelphia for dance. I moved to atl to pursue my dream to become a bigger artist and also get a degree in business and music. I also perform at a lot of places, such as the Apollo theater, Thanksgiving parade in Philadelphia, concerts and festivals in Atlanta.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had to overcome a lot of obstacles in my life. Losing a lot of family members all through high schools put a big hold on me. But that also drives me to keep going.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a rapper/singer and I’m also a dancer. I have been dancing all my life even in school.
I started my music career three years ago, trying to figure out how to grow independently and organically. But I feel as though my time is coming real soon. Some of my numbers 1 songs are party, fallen soldiers, twin and war.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The music industry always changes every five years so I do expect it to be a big change within the next five years its new music being created every day sounds always changing. The philly/ jersey club scene it’s going to be one of the biggest hip-hop subgenres just because a lot of people love to dance.
