Today we’d like to introduce you to Princess Eleby.
Hi Princess, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Henna by Princess Serenity was born from a moment of inspiration shared between my daughter and me during our first henna experience with House of Henna, led by the incredibly talented Atlanta artist Marlena Stewart. What began as a simple afternoon of art and bonding became the spark that awakened something deeper, a love for the beauty, culture, and calm that henna brings.
From those first swirling designs, I felt the magic of connection between art and soul, tradition and creativity, mother and daughter. That inspiration stayed with me, growing into Henna by Princess Serenity, our family-run business that celebrates art, love, and togetherness.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t always been smooth. Balancing a family-run business with everyday life brought its challenges, from mastering the craft to learning the business side of things. Designs didn’t always go as planned, and events sometimes threw curveballs. But each challenge taught us patience, resilience, and the power of community. Those lessons shaped Henna by Princess Serenity into a business that celebrates art, connection, and joy every step of the way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Henna by Princess Serenity, I create henna designs that blend tradition with a modern touch. Most of my clients are experiencing henna for the first time, and what sets us apart is how we hennaify them, a term I came up with to describe being adorned with henna in a way that feels personal, expressive, and unforgettable.
I’m most proud of running a family business that brings people together, celebrates culture, and leaves every client feeling special. We’re known for our attention to detail and the warm, memorable experience we offer. Every design tells a story, and every first-time hennafied moment is one to remember.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Atlanta is its energy and diversity. There’s a thriving creative community, rich culture, and so many opportunities to connect with people from all walks of life. I especially love how the city embraces art, food, and traditions from around the world; it’s inspiring to work here.
What I like least is the traffic. Getting from one side of the city to the other can sometimes feel like a full-day adventure, but even that comes with its own stories and patience-building moments. Despite that, Atlanta’s heart, creativity, and sense of community always make it worth it.
