Today we’d like to introduce you to Romesha / Dontavious Daniel-Cobb/Cobb.
Hi Romesha / Dontavious , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
At the age of 12, I was introduced to community service through my uncle, Calvin Daniel, who founded a nonprofit organization called Unlimited Door Foundation Inc. He always involved me and my family in giving back, and we volunteered in many different ways to support the community. Those early experiences stayed with me and planted the seed for my own desire to serve others.
In 2023, I established More 2 Life Foundation Inc. as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Shortly after my son, Dontavious Cobb, now serving as CFO, graduated high school in 2022, we began discussing the vision of creating a nonprofit together. At just 18 years old, Dontavious created the name More 2 Life Foundation, explaining, “It is more to life than what people can see, so you don’t have to stop or give up even when you fail; keep going and continue to strive higher.” His belief in purpose, resilience, and possibility helped shape the foundation’s identity and mission.
Together, we set out to support teens and young adults by providing mentorship, promoting suicide awareness, mental health education, teaching financial literacy, and fostering career development. Although unexpected circumstances delayed our initial launch, our commitment to this vision remained strong.
On October 7, 2025, we formally launched More 2 Life Foundation through our inaugural Birthday Give Back initiative. Because our birthdays are two weeks apart (9/24 and 10/8), we chose to celebrate by giving back to teens/young adults in need. We partnered with Covenant House in Atlanta, Georgia, and provided totes filled with essential items—including toiletries, socks, hygiene products, towels, and washcloths—for the teens and young adults residing in the shelter.
As we began preparing for our November project to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in shelters, the federal government shutdown continued longer than anyone expected. Lives began to be deeply affected—including my own as a government employee. I noticed countless people struggling just to keep food on the table, pay utilities, maintain shelter, or afford gas to get to work while going without pay. One shelter I tried to contact for weeks never responded, and at the same time, I saw more and more families crying out for help. I came home one evening and talked with my son about how heavy my heart felt watching so many people suffer. I told him I wished I could do more than simply share resources. Together, we decided to use the little money we had in our nonprofit account to help single-parent families affected by the government shutdown. We gave what we had, and when people began asking how they could support, I created a flyer listing ways to donate. Every single contribution we received went directly to families in need.
Even though we are a new organization with no grant funding—and even though I myself was impacted by the government shutdown—God still blessed our hearts and our organization to be a BIG BLESSING to others. We were able to provide financial support to 15 single-parent families, exceeding our goal of 5 families and the joy of knowing we helped someone in their time of need is something we will never forget.
More 2 Life Foundation Inc. mission is to empower teens and young adults through mentorship, mental health awareness and career growth. We are committed to providing support, resources and opportunities that help individuals overcome challenges, build confidence, and reach their full potential, reminding them that there is always more to life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has not been easy. We faced many challenges in getting started. Dontavious Cobb made mistakes in his younger years, but he learned from them, got back on track, and now mentor young boys on making good decisions to avoid consequences they will later regret.
I, too, faced obstacles; I was afraid to start without funding. I had to educate myself on how to launch an organization without money, how to apply for grants, and other ways to raise funds to make our vision a reality.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
