Rising Stars: Meet Sania Irfan of Marietta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sania Irfan.

Sania, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Sania. I’m a mom to a son and two lovely daughters. I’m a self-taught abstract artist. After moving to a new city, I started painting to keep myself busy, but after just a few pieces, I truly fell in love with art and turned painting into a hobby. When people saw my work, they began asking if I could create something similar for them. Since then, there’s been no looking back. I’ve sent my art pieces all across the United States and even to Europe.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There were many things I learned along the way. At first, I was simply following my hobby, but working as a commercial artist is very different. There are so many aspects to consider, making sure the client and I are on the same page. Bringing their vision to life on the canvas, and ensuring they get what they truly want. Sometimes, I also have to explain that what they’re asking for may not always be the most aesthetically pleasing, and I help guide them toward a design that will look beautiful in their space. I’ve also had to think carefully about the right dimensions for their needs and make sure the finished piece is packed safely, shipped securely, and delivered without damage.
These are all things I had to learn through experience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I create modern, abstract, and textured paintings that are meant to bring beauty, emotion, and personality into people’s spaces. I specialize in custom, made-to-order pieces where I work closely with clients to bring their vision to life. I’m known for my attention to detail, rich textures, and the way I blend colors to create depth and movement on the canvas.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like best about Atlanta is the diversity and the sense of community. There are people from so many different backgrounds, and that brings a lot of inspiration and creativity. I also love how supportive people are of small businesses and local artists. It really motivates me to keep creating.

What I like least is probably the traffic and how busy it can get sometimes. But overall, I feel grateful to be here and be part of this vibrant place.
