Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaquana Andrews.
Hi Shaquana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York by a strong single mother. My grandmother another strong mother that also helped to raise me. I’ve witnessed resilient, strong, independent boss moms since I was a child. These two women were the start of my foundation into motherhood and I didn’t know at the time. Children were not a part of my future as a child. I saw how much my mom went through and I didn’t want that for myself. Even though my mom provided me and my siblings with a good life, she wasn’t always able to pour into herself. I always told myself I would be sure to take care of myself and when I became a mom that did not change. Motherhood can become extensively consuming leading us to forget about us “The Woman”- WE forget that the woman is the foundation of every role in our life. I want every woman to know you can still care about yourself and pour into yourself while still being a great mom. We can run businesses and earn degrees while still being a great mom. I am a mompreneur to two boys, I get facials, my nails and feet done, I run a business providing brand name apparel for moms on the go, I’m a sports mom, I am my son’s therapist, teacher and their first love. I do not take any of these roles lightly so I will remain intentional with being the best version of me in order to be the best MomAllDay.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wish I could say it has been but it hasn’t. My main struggle is Marketing and Sales.
I am a new business owner and I am doing it alone. So personally and professionally speaking everything great has a team behind it and that is what I don’t have yet. I started a business during the pandemic with no actual plan but I knew I had something to offer. Social media was at an all-time high so it was much easier to sell. Things have changed and my business is in a need of a marketing team. I am learning as I go and I am being patient with the process.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the CEO to a brand-name apparel company called MAD-MomAllDay. I provide brand-name athleisure, fitness apparel for moms on the go. I have an online store which provides access to all available products. I am a person who wants to see everyone win, I want everyone to live in their purpose so I am offering life improvement options. This brand is about embracing lifestyle changes and life improvement while still being a good mom. I am learning that as a mom I contribute to the future of mankind so I have to be intentional with my being my best self for me and my kids.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk taking is sometimes necessary for that next step to get you closer to success. I have stepped out on faith to Pursue my business full-time. I previously had a corporate position but it was time for me to invest my time and resources into myself. This was a risk in the moment but long term it will be worth it.
