Today we’d like to introduce you to Shontae Seaborn.
Hi Shontae, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Well, I started my business in November 2019 just practicing to be great and in so many ways it was very hard I never thought god called me here to do nails. I wanted to give up so many times but I looked at my daughter and my support system like I can’t give up now I put too much money into this. I was working a full-time job as a dispatcher at a company called Gate Gourmet. At heart, I always knew I was good with my hands and it was nothing I couldn’t do. I tried event planning, made custom clothing and shoes but the last thing was nails so I knew this was it. I took my first client in January 2020 and mind you we were in the middle of a pandemic and everything was closed down but I kept going. March 2020 I took a leap of faith and I quit my job and went full-time with nails and never looked back I promise you it was the best thing I could have ever done in my life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing was smooth honestly because running a business is very hard. the main thing is building a clientele and making a platform for yourself trying to figure out what makes me different from other nail techs.

I’m a nail technician I specialize in acrylic nails I’m known for my creativity such as nail art & freestyle sets. I’m most proud of my growth because every day I’m still learning new things the nail business changes daily and I’m here for it all. My Professionalism sets me apart from others because I always aim to please, I make my clients feel comfortable, and my vibe is unmatched. You will always get a good laugh when you sit in my chair.
