Rising Stars: Meet Steven Sosebee of Grant Park and more

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Sosebee.

Hi Steven, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started making jewelry as a way to unwind and express my creativity. I was drawn to working with crystals and stones because of their unique energies and beauty. As I honed my skills, friends and family began asking me to create custom pieces for them, and that’s when I realized I had a business idea.

I started small, selling my pieces at local markets and online through my website and Instagram. It’s been a journey, but I’m loving every moment of it. There’s something special about creating something beautiful that brings joy to someone else.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting a small business is like navigating uncharted waters – it’s messy, unpredictable, and sometimes overwhelming. But as you keep moving forward, things start to click into place. You’re constantly learning, adapting, and growing.

At first, everything feels like a struggle. You’re trying to figure out marketing, sales, production, and finances all at once. It’s like trying to solve a puzzle blindfolded. But with each passing day, week, and month, you gain more experience, insight, and confidence.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work with crystals, helping people understand the unique properties of each gemstone and how they can benefit from their energy. Whether it’s promoting calmness, attracting abundance, or enhancing intuition, I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge to help others connect with the stones on a deeper level.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Starting a small jewelry business is a leap of faith. You’re figuring things out as you go, learning from mistakes, and adapting to challenges. It’s a journey, and the uncertainty is part of it.
