Hi Tanya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a single mom of three children, I have seen my share of struggles. My children have always been my center and motivation for everything that I do. I just want to make them proud and provide. Starting my own business has always been a dream of mine, I am excited to see how things are finally starting to fall into place.
NJ UP NX is a social media marketing agency that will promote small businesses, entrepreneurs, and events all around New Jersey. Since I am a proud New Jersian and love where I am from, I wanted to start a business helping others from New Jersey as well. We want to spotlight small businesses, entrepreneurs, and events by helping bring more traffic to them. We also want to bring more awareness to what’s going on in your neighborhoods. What’s new and up and coming.
We will provide businesses with the opportunity to reach different target audiences by promoting through social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. NJ UP NX wants to help small businesses generate more revenue with our marketing tactics and promotions.
Since we are new and up and coming ourselves, it may be a challenge in the beginning for others to see the vision. I believe once they see all that we have to offer, it will be such a success. I have increased my personal page following on Instagram from 2K to 23.7K, by marketing with reels and ads. I know I can help other businesses as well.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. But that’s what’s exciting and keeps you on your toes. Getting people to understand what you are doing and to support you has been the ultimate challenge. I believe my biggest supporters will be strangers. I try to stay optimistic and keep going. Do not give up. No matter how many no’s you get, keep pushing yourself. It is difficult and can be challenging but you will never see the reward if you give up.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have been a case worker for the last ten years with Hudson County Family Services. I assist clients and determine their eligibility for certain benefits. I am most proud of my children and drive to never give up. I am always showing love and support for others. I have grown my following from 2k to 31k and want to use that to put others on and grow their business following or drive customers to support their business.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
It is definitely important to network and meet people in your similar field. I have come across some like-minded people who are just as hungry and excited to work on similar projects. I also think doing a lot of research in whatever it is you’re doing is just as important, too. You want to be an expert or as close to it if you’re going to assist others.
