Rising Stars: Meet Tasha Hussey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Hussey.

Hi Tasha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started making jewelry after 18 years of fashion design. Jewelry became a more manageable outlet for my creativity and having a family. My third child suffered from terrible eczema which forced me to make all-natural skincare to treat him. People kept asking to buy the soaps I made for him so I launched a skincare line. As I continued to make jewelry and skincare my businesses changed with my lifestyle. I am an avid gardener and have always liked rustic and rough asthetics. Raw uncut stones fit my style. When the pandemic hit, I started raising bees and chickens and even growing my own food. I thought everyone should have the same opportunity so I began selling seeds. I didn’t intend to have two businesses, but I’m not a one-dimensional designer. I’m a little mix of country and hippy. My first Etsy store Esh Jewelry Collection carries semiprecious and acetate jewelry. My second store Esh Collection became a curated collection of teas, handmade soaps, organic, and heirloom seeds.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Balancing family and business has always been the biggest struggle. Especially as a single mother of three. The second hardest part is finding time for myself.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My jewelry is uniquely made with raw uncut stones. I pair them with hand hammered and wrapped gold findings. I am most proud of my cuffs which have always stood out. I was inspired by the Oh Mighty Isis show from my childhood.

What matters most to you? Why?
Family matters most to me. They are who I’m most comfortable with and I can trust. They always have my back.
