Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Cross. Them and their team share their story with us below:
With a flair for fashion and entertainment, Taylor Cross began her marketing career in New York City supporting various event activations and promotional marketing tactics. After assisting in production for a 3-day music conference at The Fontainebleau Hotel and LIV Nightclub in Miami, Florida, Taylor quickly gained an interest in the world of hospitality. Having successfully graduated with a degree in Public Relations from St. John’s University and marketing experience under her belt, Taylor moved back to her hometown, Atlanta, Georgia, and began working in sales and marketing for hospitality brands like Diamond Resort International and Club Corp with hopes of becoming a future hotelier. Taylor achieved a certificate in hospitality and tourism from Florida Atlantic University in 2021 and is thrilled to now be a part of the Omni Hotels & Resorts family in Atlanta, Georgia. In her role, she will be acting as the Complex Marketing Manager for both Omni Atlanta at CNN Center and Omni Hotel at the Battery Atlanta properties.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Finding the right career path for me was challenging at the beginning. Now I focus on my career philosophy, which is service to others. How can I positively impact and enhance the experience of the customer and the people who I work and live with? This helps me to focus on my purpose and reminds me to persevere when I am facing challenges. I also try to focus on my strengths and what career path best fits my personality and interests. In hospitality, you work directly on the guest’s experience and get instant feedback from them on what is working and what’s not. Two of my top strengths are being able to relate to others and taking ownership of what I’ve committed to, so I’m always thinking of what would make for the best experience.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a complex marketing manager who focuses on strategizing integrated marketing efforts internally and with partners and vendors externally. I specialize in project management and cross-departmental disciplines. I’m known for being a thought and culture leader within an organization with a focus on service. I think that’s a big part of what sets me apart from others because I am excited to do the hard work of managing people in addition to the fun, creative marketing stuff.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Believe in yourself, do the work, be patient, and your time will come.
