Today we’d like to introduce you to The Cosmic Roots Collective. Them and their team share their story with us below:
It all started with two artists and a shared dream. The founders of Cosmic Roots Collective, Lunar Liv and Devan Martin, first met in 2020 at an art show they were both participating in. They had an immediate connection which built over the following two years through attending markets, collaborating on artwork, and exchanging inspiration. During that time, the two shared their vision of one day creating spaces that artistically impacted the community. In early 2022, Devan reached out to Liv, suggesting it was time to turn those dreams into a reality by starting an art collective based in Atlanta. The Cosmic Roots Collective launched in February 2022 and the two artists poured their hearts into hosting The Collective’s first event on July 16th, 2022. The sold-out debut showcase featured artwork from eight local creators and validated that Devan Martin and Lunar Liv had found their path. The night’s success and magical moments left an impact on all who attended; reinforcing that the artistic and empathic vision for The Cosmic Roots Collective is well on its way.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As individuals, the two founders have each encountered a fair share of obstacles, but enduring those lessons allowed for their paths to come together now in an incredible way. Since founding The Collective together, Lunar Liv and Devan Martin have pleasantly welcomed a new sense of ease into their lives. It is rare when two very eclectic individuals end up aligning on the same path, and even more special when they share the same vision for the future. The two certainly look forward to embracing all facets that come with following their hearts and building their collective.

The Cosmic Roots Collective specializes in creating uplifting avenues for artists to connect with each other and their community. Currently, The Collective is passionately working towards their next Art Gallery showcase. The next showcase, Ethereal Existence, is scheduled for December 3rd, 2022 in downtown Atlanta. Featuring dreamlike, expressive, and otherworldly artwork from nearly 15 artists, this event is sure to outdo the last. Tickets go on sale on October 1st, but more details regarding the event can be found through the links below.
What matters most to you?
At its core, The Collective values communal creation and shared artistic experience. There’s a certain type of magic that arises when artists whom were saved by their work come together to create an environment that emulates those feelings. Aiming to expand creative impact in the community, the collective is made up of artists who create from a heart-centered space while expressing their individuality through a variety of different materials.
The Cosmic Roots Collective plans to participate in more frequent markets throughout Atlanta, host additional gallery showcases and work toward their goal of a permanent location for the future.
