Today we’d like to introduce you to Tierra Jones
Hi Tierra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey began in Atlanta, where I discovered my passion for both acting and film production. I trained at some of the best acting studios, including The Company Acting Studio, Rob Mello, and Drama Inc. My very first short film, Blind Date, which I wrote, acted in, and produced, had the honor of opening the Georgia Big Picture Film Festival. To date, I’m an award winning producer and I’ve produced over 20 short films, and I recently starred in my first international film, Hotspot, which was filmed in Montreal, Canada, and is poised to be a film festival favorite. I have earned recognition, including the cover of CEO Los Angeles 2024, the cover of Feature Magazine’s December 2023 issue, features in Flaunt, New York Journal’s “40 under 40,” Voyage LA’s “Rising Star,” Canavas Rebel Magazine, Bold Journey, and an esteemed journalist spotlight interview with Vjosa Cerkini. Alongside my work in front of and behind the camera, I also pursued a career as an entertainment journalist, serving as the LA Correspondent for Georgia Hollywood Review Magazine and currently contributing to IG @weareheritagemagazine. Additionally, I am an activist, having volunteered for ACLUNY, GrowNYC, and Black Women March, and I proudly serve on the advisory board of WomenVoicesNow.org, which empowers filmmakers, produces social-change films, and engages audiences to advocate for girls’ and women’s rights. As an influencer, I am a brand ambassador for Sky Clothing (IG @Sky) and Diamo Jewels (IG @diamojewels)
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey wasn’t easy, but it has shaped me into the artist I am today. For every setback I faced, I stayed positive and took it as an opportunity to learn, grow, and become better. There were times when the challenges seemed overwhelming, but I always reminded myself of my passion and the goals I wanted to achieve.
I’m incredibly proud of the woman I have become. I fought hard for her and I’m grateful for God for guiding me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What sets me apart from others is my versatility and the combination of my skills both in front of and behind the camera as an actress and producer. My journey in the film industry has allowed me to wear multiple hats, giving me a unique perspective on the creative process.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I view risk as a necessary tool for transformation. As an artist taking risks is apart of the journey, both creatively and professionally. One of the most significant risks I took was quitting my job to work on a film because my boss wouldn’t allow me the time off. That leap of faith, led to more opportunities. I put my faith in God and trusted in myself, knowing that I was on the right path. That every step forward, no matter how uncertain, is part of the bigger picture and achieving your goals and dreams.
