Rising Stars: Meet Tyeshia Reynolds of Huntsville, AL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyeshia Reynolds.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Reign in Radiance was born out of a personal journey that turned into a purpose. For years, I struggled to find skincare that truly catered to melanated and sensitive skin, something gentle yet effective, natural yet luxurious. So, I decided to create what I couldn’t find. I started small, learning everything I could about natural formulation, sourcing authentic ingredients, and understanding what our skin really needs to stay hydrated, even-toned, and healthy.

Before I ever thought about selling a single jar, I tested every formula on myself, my husband, and my daughter. It was important to me that each product felt safe, soothing, and made with love, not just something that looked good on a shelf. Those early nights in my kitchen mixing butters, oils, and botanicals became the foundation of what would one day become Reign in Radiance.

On June 25, 2025, I officially launched the brand, a small black woman owned business with a big heart and a mission to help others glow confidently in their skin. Our signature whipped body butters were crafted with melanated, sensitive skin in mind, but they’ve quickly become favorites for people of all skin types who want nourishment, hydration, and a touch of luxury in their daily routine.

Every product tells a story, one of care, intention, and radiance. Reign in Radiance isn’t just about skincare; it’s about celebrating who you are, naturally. It’s about helping people feel seen, confident, and comfortable in their own skin. That’s what keeps me motivated every single day.

At Reign in Radiance, our motto is “Where Glow Meets Grace,” because we believe true beauty comes from balance, confidence with softness, self-care with purpose, and glow with grace. Looking ahead, I’m excited to expand our line with more all-natural products that nourish the body and soul, and to continue creating a brand that reminds everyone that their skin, and their story deserves to shine.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting Reign in Radiance hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has taught me something valuable. Being a one-woman show doing it all researching, formulating, designing labels, and packaging orders after my full-time responsibilities. There were days when nothing seemed to blend right, or when sourcing authentic, all-natural ingredients took longer (and cost more) than expected.

I also had to learn the business side , and still learning branding, marketing, budgeting, and licensing. This is all while trying to stay true to my mission and not get discouraged by comparison or slow growth. There were moments I questioned if I was ready, but every time I saw someone’s skin transform, or read a message saying, “Girl this butter helped my skin so much,” it reminded me why I started.

One of my biggest lessons has been patience, trusting in God, and having faith that what’s meant to grow will grow at the right time. Reign in Radiance was built on love, intention, and consistency, and I carry that energy into everything I do. Every setback became a setup for something better a stronger formula, a clearer vision, or a deeper connection with my customers. Those challenges are shaping the brand into what it is today, you know something real, relatable, and radiant.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At my core, I’m both a creator and a protector and I think that dual passion shows in everything I do. I’m the founder of Reign in Radiance, a skincare brand dedicated to crafting natural, inclusive products that nourish melanated and sensitive skin. I specialize in creating body care that not only feels luxurious but also supports real skin health while also addressing dryness, discoloration, and sensitivity with intention and authenticity.

What I’m most proud of is how personal this brand is. Every formula, from our whipped body butters to our upcoming product line, is handcrafted with care and tested by me and my family before it ever reaches the public. I take pride in the trust my customers place in me. knowing that each product is made from honest ingredients and backed by research, not just trends.

But beyond skincare, I’m also deeply passionate about public safety and service. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Homeland Security and Emergency Services Management, set to graduate in May 2026. My academic journey reflects my desire to protect, plan, and lead whether that’s safeguarding communities through emergency management or protecting people’s confidence and wellness through skincare.

What sets me apart is balance, the ability to blend structure with creativity, science with self-care, and discipline with passion. Reign in Radiance is an extension of that. I’m building a brand that not only uplifts the skin but empowers the person behind it. Every product, every message, every detail reflects that same mission: to serve, protect, and inspire radiance in every form.

Both of my paths, Homeland Security and entrepreneurship, may seem different on the surface, but they’re rooted in the same purpose: care, preparedness, and empowerment. Whether I’m developing emergency response strategies or designing skincare for sensitive skin, my goal is to make a positive impact and to build systems, solutions, and products that help people feel safe, confident, and ready to face the world. That’s the heart of everything I do.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Absolutely, my biggest piece of advice is to start where you are and trust that progress doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful. When I first started Reign in Radiance, I wanted everything to be flawless the formulas, the labels, the brand image. But I quickly learned that growth happens in motion. Every ‘imperfect’ start, every mistake, every slow season was preparing me for something greater.

Don’t be afraid to begin small. Whether you’re launching a brand, chasing a dream, or changing your life, your consistency matters more than your comfort. The late nights, the trial and error, the moments when you feel unseen they’re all part of your foundation. You learn as you go, and that’s what makes your story worth telling.

Another piece of advice: protect your vision. Not everyone will understand your journey, and that’s okay. Stay focused on your ‘why,’ and let that guide your decisions. The right people and opportunities will align once you move with purpose.

And finally give yourself grace. Some seasons will test you, but never forget that the same way you pour into your dreams, you must pour into yourself. Take care of your mind, your body, and your peace along the way.

If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be this: ‘You don’t have to have it all figured out. Just keep showing up, stay authentic, and keep glowing because everything you’re working toward is already aligning in your favor.”
