Today we’d like to introduce you to Tymisha Harris.
Hi Tymisha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a dancer, singer, and actor who has been learning the business of entertainment for 20+ years. I am a student of life and always willing to learn something new and exciting. As an ensemble member, I know how to blend in and make the cast stronger. But as a solo artist, I’m explosive. I love collaboration with others and making the end goal perfect~ or damn close to it.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I would not say it has been a smooth road, but it has been a random and wonderful, with so much more ahead. As an entertainer, one must have thick skin or not give a rats ____! I have always known I can make things better, so if a production didn’t use me, their loss. Another couple of hardships is not being supported by your community and navigating through new pathways (reinventing oneself basically).
I won’t even get into the money side of being an artist. We all know that is difficult on its own.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I dance, sing, act, walk stilts, work with puppets, style shoots, as well as a burlesque dancer… to name a few things. I specialize in live performances. I’m known for being an excellent, energetic performer that takes you on wild rides. My ability to transform my energy into a memorable experience is one thing that sets me apart from others. My grace, style and experience are a few more.
What are your plans for the future?
My first big goal is to get JOSEPHINE The Play into the mainstream theater markets, starting with a residency in Montreal, followed by an 18 months tour. From there, skies are the limit!!
