Rising Stars: Meet Tynisha Reneè

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tynisha Reneè.

Tynisha Reneè

Hi Tynisha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Chapter 1 of my story began before I realized a story was unfolding. Like many people, my life has been filled with hardships, failed relationships, moments of insecurity and doubt, and being unsure of what the future holds for me – however, these experiences have provided me with wisdom and growth that I share on my platform.

I am currently on a journey to freedom, which isn’t limited to financial freedom/material success. Freedom to me is living in my truth and being authentically me, without fear of how I will fit in or be accepted by others. It’s been a long journey, but I am gradually becoming at peace with who I am – quirks and all – and exposing those intricacies to the world.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As I reflected on this question, I began to think of struggles caused by external factors – but what about the struggles that stem from within? If I’m being completely honest, I have struggled the most with feelings of inadequacy, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome. Fear of the unknown/failure often causes us to avoid risks and bet on ourselves, which in my opinion is the definition of failure – so why do I do it?

Why am I hypercritical of myself? Why do I allow overthinking to hinder my growth? Why do I see making mistakes as “the end of the world”? Do I view myself – my successes, my strengths, my potential – in the same light that others do? These are the conversations I’ve been having with myself (I promise I’m not crazy! lol).

I am, however, big on self-reflection and self-awareness. I am working every day to unlearn these ways of thinking because I know that the best is yet to come. I’m really in a me vs. me mentality and I can’t wait to make it to the other side. My journey hasn’t been a smooth road by any means – but if it was, would the wins be worth it?

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My YouTube channel, TynishaTalks, is all about normalizing transparency and embracing difficult conversations. We live in a society where we have more access to people than ever before, however, we know less about the true nature of others.

What is your TRUE story? Who are you when no one is looking? Does your social media persona align with who you are in real life? Are you honest about your hardships, or do you only showcase your successes? I challenge the idea that I need to have an aesthetic, be an “it girl”, or fit superficial societal standards to impact others and be a woman of value.

I’m most known for being real and not relying on theatrics to carry my content. I began recording videos in my closet using my phone. I still do not have a fancy podcast studio or high-quality technology (yet) but I’m thankful that my supporters still see ME and respect my work regardless. I believe that I was blessed with a voice and the strength to be able to tell my story, including the challenging experiences. As the saying goes, “real recognizes real” and that’s all that matters.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I am the best version of myself when my creativity is flowing. Whenever I feel a block, I know that some aspect of my life is out of balance. I find peace in having time to myself and being in nature – that can be painting in the park, hiking, or hopping on a plane and meditating on a beach somewhere sunny while listening to healing music.

I encourage everyone to look into binaural beats! I play them all the time to help me study, sleep, focus, reduce anxiety, etc. They function by playing music at different frequencies, which each have different impacts on your brain. Definitely a game-changer!

Aside from nature, I rely on my relationship with God for guidance. Whenever I don’t have the strength to get through things on my own, I know that God will help carry the weight. I know that religion/spirituality may be a taboo topic for some, but I am nothing without my faith, and I will never be too afraid to speak about it.
