Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyrell Ware.
Tyrell, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I moved to Atlanta after graduating college with the hopes of playing professional basketball. Me and a friend, Leo Clark, were discovered by a modeling agency and we started doing modeling work. My love for basketball has allowed me to create my own business. I have trained or worked with well over one thousand individuals through camps and various trainings. Six players who have played in the NBA or G League have attended my camps or received lessons from me as a youth. This has allowed me to create my own mental fitness and mindset programs. I have also created merchandise to sell.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In my opinion, the road to success should never be smooth. Smooth roads make you relax and you become comfortable. My road has been hard. Some of the obstacles were placed in the road by yours truly. Other things were done to make me become stronger. I have had my car reposed, been homeless, had to borrow money and have been without money. The lack of money for a dreamer and business owner is probably the biggest hurdle. The money that you make has to be used to live on and you can’t reinvest it in your business and new equipment. However, it does allow you to become creative and find ways around obstacles.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a model/actor/business owner, I do a variety of things. Luckily they all complement each other. The modeling and acting require that you maintain a certain level of fitness and staying close to basketball helps me do that. I specialize in runway, e-commerce and modeling clothes for brands. In basketball, I have created a system which allows me to get the most from a player in the shortest amount of time. I am most proud of the fact that I was able to do a basketball reunion and bring my former students back to play. I brought my mother to help host and they told her the difference I made in their lives. I think what sets me apart from others is that I am adept in so many other parts of life. I do things to give back to the community and have a genuine liking of helping others.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is the ability to take an idea or dream from your head and make it tangible. Also another form of success is what I call internal victories. These victories are when you don’t allow fear to stop you. You may not win on the outside or the result you were hoping for but you did not allow fear to stop you from trying. If you when on the inside enough, the external victories will follow.
