Rising Stars: Meet Ulrike Stewart of Atlanta / Conyers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ulrike Stewart

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Having worked as a hairstylist for over 25 years, I always had a deep passion for my craft, but I also felt a strong desire to step in front of the camera. While I loved my clients and the impact I had on their confidence, I knew it was time to take a leap and pursue what truly fulfilled me.
Closing my salon was a bold move, but I was fully committed to chasing my dreams. The journey was far from easy—there were plenty of setbacks, countless rejections, and moments of self-doubt. Entering a new industry meant stepping into uncertainty, but I quickly learned that validation had to come from within. Embracing my individuality—flaws and all—was key to pushing forward.
Success didn’t happen overnight. Hard work, resilience, and unwavering belief in myself were essential. For a long time, I navigated this industry on my own, moving from opportunity to opportunity without representation. But I trusted that every challenge was part of my path. The obstacles, the heartaches—they all strengthened me. And through it all, I realized something important: you never know who is watching.
I made it a priority to give my absolute best in everything I put out, and that dedication ultimately led me to sign with one of the most prestigious agencies in the Southeast—AMT (Atlanta Model and Talent). This journey has been one of growth, perseverance, and faith, and I’m grateful for every step that brought me here.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The transition was not as easy as I thought it would be. Going from standing behind the chair to having to memorize 18+ pages of dialogue was definitely a challenge. I had to train for years in scene studies, improv, audition techniques, and learning how to fully dive into different characters—emotionally and mentally. It’s about drawing from your own life experiences or being open to others’ experiences. It’s not easy and takes a toll both emotionally and mentally. On top of that, I was also opening a new restaurant with my husband and business partners while balancing my marriage and kids. A blessing itself but that venture was also new. Passion is essential in this journey, as there will be times when you question whether it’s all worth it during the tough moments.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
This is a great question! I like to describe myself as a full-time actress with a side of restaurant owner—it’s a bit of a fun mix! I specialize in embracing the emotions of others and bringing those experiences to the big screen so the audience can feel them through their own eyes. I’ve been fortunate to be part of several projects, from The Suicide Squad to Glowstreet. But what I’m most proud of is my husband and family, who have been incredibly supportive of my dreams, especially during this transition. I’m also super proud of myself for facing my fears while stepping out on faith.. Made me such a stronger woman because I realize nothings out of reach knowing all
I have to do is the WORK therefore nothings off limits.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I’ve learned so much about myself throughout this journey. I’ve discovered the strength of my faith, my drive, and just how limitless my passion truly is. I never realized how far my determination could take me until I was really pushed to my limits.

On top of that, I’ve had to learn some tough lessons about people. I’ve come to realize that nothing is truly given—everything is earned. There are people who may try to take advantage of you, using you until there’s nothing left to give. Loyalty, too, is something I’ve learned isn’t always guaranteed. Everyone has their own definition of what loyalty means, and not everyone’s will align with yours.

Through it all, one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to always put your goals and priorities first. Your dreams are like your babies—you have to nurture them, protect them, and feed them to make sure they grow. It’s easy to get distracted, but if you keep your focus and stay true to what matters most, everything else will fall into place.”
