Today we’d like to introduce you to Val Almanza.
Hi Val, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started @my.browsbyval when I was 21 years old. At the time I was a full-time college student and also working full-time at Native Collective in Trilith. I decided to take courses and certifications to expand my knowledge in the beauty industry and be able to offer more services to my clients. I graduated in May of 2024 with my bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Markerting but have decided to continue working in the beauty industry because I have so much love for it!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was definitely difficult starting out, building a clientele can be difficult especially during the first couple years of the COVID pandemic. Juggling college and work was hard at times but I’m so happy that I was able to continue with both!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a lash/brow artist at Native Collective in the Town at Trilith! I specialize in brow threading, lamination, lash lifts, and tinting. My most popular services are lash lifts and brow laminations which are the services I love doing the most! My gentleness with threading is what I think sets me apart from most, it’s the most common thing I hear from new clients.
