Rising Stars: Meet Vanicha Suwansiri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanicha Suwansiri.

Hi Vanicha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was a 3D artist from Thailand who was fortunate to participate in a famous print advertising company like Illusion CGI Studio. This is the place earned how to use visuals to communicate with audiences and generate digital craftsmanship. My former boss Surachai Puthikulangkura is generous to give a Junior Environment Modeler like my participation in big projects (Eyeball Slave, Your Voice, Your Choice, and Disappearing Animals.) That earned many awards for print advertising worldwide, such as Gold Pharma Illustration from The Cannes Festival of Creativity in France, Clio Health Awards, Ipa Best of Health Show, One Eyeland, LIA Awards, and Ad Stars. I admire him for giving me the vision and skills to be a better artist. After I gained some experienced, I started my journey in the US with Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). This is where I meet friends and professors who support my career as a 3D artist. All of that brings me to the opportunity to work as a Junior Asset artist at SPIN VFX Atlanta, where I have a chance to work for incredible clients like Nickelodeon and Marvel. It’s fulfilled my whole life dream.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s always a challenging path for me, who came from a country that is not using English as a first language. I must ensure that my communication skills are legit for the workplace while improving my working skills. Moreover, women work in industries where more than 80% are male. Especially in the department, I’m working at. I must prove to people who underestimate me for getting a spot in my career, but after all the hard work, I’m done. It’s paid off, and I do not regard it at all.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a 3D artist who specializes in realistic characters. My role is creating a computer graphic in human form for television, movie advertising, and game. I made the picture in your mind become a reality on your screen. I always called myself a magician in the entertainment industry. As a female artist, I am outstanding in garments and feminine style assets. I translated fashion with understanding and presented it in 3D objects that became my feature style.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice is whoever has a passion for fulfilling your dream, please don’t stop. Please follow the voice in your head, but if you find difficulty, it is time to ask for professional advice. Be bold and contact the professional artist you saw on social media, especially linked-in. People from my industries are kind and willing to answer my question—especially my mentor Laura Hohman who helped me to achieve my dream. However, If you are still waiting to hear back from the person you admire, you can try to contact other people, but remember to have a proper introduction and be polite.
