Today we’d like to introduce you to Yvonne And Brianna Ozenne
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born and raised in Connecticut, we transplanted to Atlanta in 2015, this is where we began our journey down the road of entertainment and acting. On that journey, we found ourselves in love with the craft and decided to get a higher education at Georgia State where we majored in theater and film. We started on social media because people kept telling us how funny we were, and to our surprise we grew a following of over 95K in less than a year. We naturally gravitated to Twin inspired shows, so our remakes of sitcoms such as Sister, Sister, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and Parent Trap became a staple of our page.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A smooth road… Absolutely Not! We literally built this page by trial and error. Figuring out the algorithms, ebbs and flows of social media is a challenge in itself. But the biggest obstacle is figuring out how to be consistent on an ever-changing platform. We have literally grown with these spaces, and they change all the time. Once we found our tribe in each space, we learned daily what to and not to do. At one point we had to shut down our Instagram page and start totally from scratch.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What sets us apart is very distinctive. We do follow the latest dance trends, and do remakes of popular shows consistently on our page; but our biggest flex is that we are building our own sitcom right on our platforms. We are telling our own story in a very fun and unique way. Our goal is to have our own show, not only on social media platforms, but on a network television station as well. In this venture we have become most proud of the fact that in our overall growth, we have truly created a community on our page. They have grown and changed with us, maintaining their loyalty all the way.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
If imagination was a person, it would be us. We had so much fun when we played as children. If we were playing with Barbie Dolls, we could literally play for hours. We’d create plots and side stories for them, making an imaginary world feel very real. While playing, we’d turn into the actual characters that we created, coming up with their voices and acting out how we thought they would move. This played a huge part in our current creative storytelling style and acting prowess.
