Today we’d like to introduce you to Zay Poole.
Zay, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Well, MoonLite Studios was originally started as a final senior project in college in Sham Shui Po Hong Kong in 2018. It was an affordable high fashion company that was meant to design & sell extra-terrestrial clothing. It wasn’t until September 2019 I decided to turn MoonLite into something bigger than a senior project, I wanted to turn it into not just a multimedia business to design and produce art but into an innovative platform for all creatives. ( to make a long story short). I continued to work hard and use my creative skills to not just observe the industry I’m in but also reform it in my own eyes that I felt could change the industry for the better. It was July 8, 2020 when MoonLite Studios became an official LLC in the state of Georgia, then as of October 27, 2020 the name MoonLite Studios has been officially Trademarked as a business. Then as of September 14, 2021 MoonLite Studios was officially registered as a trademark of the US. MoonLite Studios is still in its growth phase but thanks to the hard work and industry acknowledgment of myself and the MoonLite team, we will soon branch out not just Atlanta but internationally as well and will be recognized as a high-end creative company “where creating art is more than a concept, it’s an experience.”
I continue to build and learn through the bad and good experiences I have throughout not just my career but life. It is something about life experiences that just triggers more motivation to push your limits of your craft and surpass those limits. I can say where I am today is thanks to my life experiences, risks and trial and error throughout both sides of my life and I will keep testing those waters and keep fighting against the stereotypes and standards until we all see you can break the rules and still accomplish your goals.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like stated before, taking risks and testing waters is what the industry I’m in is really about, and I feel not enough people understand or choose to do so. One thing I can say is when the road was smooth I felt bored and that honestly unmotivated to push myself. It wasn’t until I started thinking outside the box and rebelled against certain things in which now the road started getting hectic, and that’s when I knew I was on the real right path. When things start to get rough and crazy, that’s how you know you’re on the right path because that’s when you feel emotions you probably are uncomfortable compared to what you’re used to and it’s that uncomfortably that’s going to help you find you.
I have been scammed, used and taken advantage of due to my talents as well as just the kind-hearted person I am. It was due to those struggles back then and today that I continue to grow and discover things about myself. I won’t go too deep into specifics but I can say just because you have a bad experience once doesn’t always mean that’s what’s going to happen and I don’t want to discourage anybody into not taking risks but more so to jump in and take them because at the end of the day all you’re doing is building and prepping yourself for when it matters the most. Then you’re able to see through things and even prepare/prevent even situations before they happen.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Okay, so the general speech I give now in order to prevent ranting because I’m a ranter is I can do anything and everything creative, besides sing and rap. To be honest, I feel I lived and still living up to that small speech, and I say that because learning is what I do and experimenting is what I love so thanks to those ways of living, I was able to learn and gain knowledge in multiple fields of creativity. That being said, I also know my limits, I say I can do it which isn’t a lie but I won’t say I’m the best or greatest if that’s the truth but I promise you it doesn’t mean I don’t know how to do it.
I can say I specialize in Acting, Modeling, Photography and Creative Directing/Director. I will say right now I’m more known for my photography and videography just because one of the cons of being multi-talented is that people always forget what else you can do, and I’m saying that in a more playful tone because It’s definitely a lot to remember. What I’m most proud of currently is my new team that I was able to assemble SHOUTOUT MOTLEY CREW! as well as the recent soon to be finalized partnership with Amy world entertainment. Both these accomplishments mean so much to me because it again means I’m on the right path and that the risks it took me in order to even get to these accomplishments were not easy ones to just jump into, but I had to make a decision on both parts.
I honestly don’t want to get into what sets me apart from others, I’ll just say my journey hasn’t even fully begun and look what I’ve accomplished at my age and with my resolve. Now it’s up to you to figure out what sets me apart, even if it’s just the fact that I refer my life as a living anime in some circumstances or the fact that I like to bring people into my world of thinking.
What were you like growing up?
This will be an easy short, straightforward answer. Anti-social, shy but also outgoing in my own way when I felt comfortable.
