Slay KANADIKIRIK shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Slay, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are all about getting everyone ready and setting a good vibe for the day. I usually start by letting our dog Max out, making breakfast, and helping my son get ready for school. My husband’s getting ready around the same time, so it’s a mix of quick chats, coffee, and making sure everyone starts the day in a good mood. It’s not chaotic, just fast and full of little moments that set the tone, I like keeping the energy positive and proactive before diving into my own work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Slay, the creator behind SlayInspireMe a space where home décor meets everyday inspiration. I share cozy-luxury interior styling ideas, seasonal décor tips, and lifestyle moments from my home. What started as a creative outlet has grown into a full-time passion for helping others create spaces that feel beautiful, functional, and full of personality. I love mixing moody glam vibes with cozy warmth, showing that luxury can also feel lived-in. Lately, I’ve been expanding into digital products and Amazon home finds, turning my love for styling into resources that inspire and simplify home décor for others.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My husband. He’s always seen something in me long before I did the creative side, the strength, the potential to turn my passions into something real. Even when I doubted myself or felt unsure, he reminded me of who I was and what I could do. He’s been that steady voice pushing me to dream bigger and trust my instincts. Looking back, a lot of what I’ve built today started because he believed in me first.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I think that shift happened when I became a mom and started creating content from a real, honest place. For a while, I tried to keep everything looking perfect the home, the life, the energy. But motherhood and building my brand taught me that strength comes from being real, not from hiding the hard parts. Once I started sharing more of my journey the challenges, the lessons, the moments that tested me . I realized people connected to that honesty. My pain turned into power when I used it to create, to inspire, and to show others that even in the chaos, beauty and purpose can grow.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes and no. The public version of me is definitely real , that’s my Capricorn side showing up strong, ambitious, and ready to create magic. But my loyal followers, the ones who’ve been with me for a while, know there’s more to me than what fits in a reel or a post. Behind the glam and curated content, I’m also the mom running around with coffee in one hand and my dog following me everywhere. Both versions are me , one polished, one cozy … just different sides of the same queen energy. 👑
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. As a Capricorn, giving my best isn’t about recognition it’s just who I am. I put my heart and effort into everything I do, whether anyone notices or not. I believe energy doesn’t lie when you pour love, discipline, and intention into something, it shows in the results, not just in the applause. I’ve learned that true fulfillment comes from knowing you gave your all, even if no one clapped for it. That’s the quiet confidence that builds legacies not noise, but consistency.
