We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brian Thorne. Check out our conversation below.
Brian, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Right now a normal day for me is like trying to balance productivity with tranquility. I start my day by taking my dog out and cleaning my entire space. I’m very intentional about creating an environment that I not only feel at peace in but also creative. Once I’ve created that environment and gotten myself ready for the day my schedule consists of creating and editing content, managing my business, and seeking out new information and opportunities. I’m always trying to grow in the healthiest way possible.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Brian, I’m a 26 year old content creator, C.E.O, & digital entrepreneur. I own an online store created in mind for queer people and I make mostly lifestyle content with some comedic relief. Something I put a lot of emphasis into in my own personal brand is prioritizing peace and well being. I love trying out new health trends, vitamins, exercises, and routines. Just about anything to improve the quality of my life without necessarily going over the top. I think everyone should make a daily effort to create their very own safe space, something that feels comfortable and personal to you. In the words of @Hindzsight “If you pour into your environment, your environment is going to pour into you.”
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
A child, beautiful, innocent, outgoing and free. I think as I grew older the world never really told me who I had to be, it somewhat encouraged it through different experiences. I think as Americans and young people in this age we all have experienced a dose of societal conditioning. Whether it was to be less loud, less political, less expressive, there’s so many ways society pushes us to fit in and recreate what we see as popular in the mainstream media. I think before the world made me form a new personality I was just trying to love and have fun.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me how to create success, success just taught me how to enjoy it. There’s been plenty of times where I was doing better than I originally expected to, in life and in business. During those times It’s hard not to lose focus of what brought you your success and spend all of your time enjoying it never to do the work to replenish it again. Suffering taught me how to put my head down and grind through tough times and hard situations. I’m very grateful for all the times that I’ve suffered because it taught me something so important which is resilience. Success didn’t teach me that.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I think on some days. As a content creator I’ve always made an effort to post transparently. I dont think its fair to your audience to give them unrealistic beliefs and expectations. There’s definitely been some chapters of my life however, that didn’t get read out loud. I’m still debating if I’ll ever share those details publicly. It would have to be in a very intentional way to help others or myself. I deal with a lot of mental health struggles and healing from past traumas so there’s definitely some days I’m not wearing those things on my sleeve publicly. To me though it feels like a form of protection. Too much vulnerability can be used against you.. see there goes those traumas we spoke about. Ahaha
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I don’t know if they really will I talk a lot. It’s kind of hard to misperceive someone so vocal unless you do it intentionally. I hope that people will understand the legacy I intended to create was one of growth, healing, positivity, inclusion, and a good time.
