Story & Lesson Highlights with Fvllaz of May pen / Clarendon

We recently had the chance to connect with Fvllaz and have shared our conversation below.

Fvllaz, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
In the first 90 minutes of my day, I try to set the tone early and be as intentional as possible. As soon as I wake up, I spend a few minutes planning out my priorities and going over my schedule so I know exactly what needs to get done. Then I do a quick personal routine — shower, get dressed, tidy up my space — because I’ve found that being in an organized environment helps me stay focused.

Once that’s done, I make a light breakfast and use that time to check emails, messages and any overnight updates so I’m caught up before the day gets busy. Before I dive into work, I review my top 2–3 goals for the day and make sure everything I do lines up with those priorities. By the time the first hour and a half has passed, I’ve already set a clear direction for the rest of the day, and I’m ready to execute.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One moment that really shaped how I see the world was when I decided to start WENGAF Arts and actually push my creative ideas into reality. At that time, I didn’t have a big team or a lot of resources.
It was just me and my passion. I had to learn everything from scratch and stay disciplined even when it felt like nobody was really paying attention.

Going through that process changed my whole mindset. It made me realize that the world doesn’t always reward talent, it rewards consistency, belief and execution. It taught me that if you’re passionate and willing to work for something every single day, you can literally create your own opportunities. Since then, I see everything as possible once you have the right mindset and you’re not afraid to take the first step.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up,
It was during the early stages of building my brand. I was putting in long hours, trying to balance different responsibilities, and it sometimes felt like the results weren’t matching the amount of effort I was giving. There were moments where I questioned whether it was really worth it, especially when I faced setbacks or didn’t get the support I expected.

But what kept me going was reminding myself why I started. I knew I had a purpose behind what I was building, and even though it was difficult, I realized that pushing through those tough moments is what separates people who succeed from those who don’t. So instead of giving up, I adjusted my strategy, stayed consistent, and focused on making small progress every day. Looking back now, I’m glad I didn’t quit because that experience built my resilience and made me a much stronger and more disciplined person.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my closest friends would say that what really matters to me is loyalty, personal growth and staying true to my purpose. They know I’m very serious about my goals and I put in a lot of effort to elevate myself and the people around me,
But at the same time, I never compromise my authenticity.

They’d probably say I care a lot about the people I love, and I value genuine, honest relationships over anything else. And they know that whatever I do, I always try to stay creative and make a positive impact,
That’s something that really matters to me.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people will say that I was someone who stayed true to my purpose and used my gifts to uplift others. I want them to remember me as a person who believed in myself even when it wasn’t easy and who didn’t just chase success for myself, but poured into the people around me as well.

I hope the story they tell is that I stayed authentic, I worked hard, I created things that inspired people, and I never gave up on my vision,
No matter how many obstacles I had to face. Most of all, I’d want them to say that my presence made a positive difference in their lives and motivated them to dream bigger and do more.
