We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kofi Dotse. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Kofi, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Travelling!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kofi Dotse, a freelance creative consultant, storyteller, and digital content creator passionate about reimagining how the world sees Africa. My work sits at the intersection of travel, culture, and visual storytelling, with a focus on ethical tourism, off-the-beaten-path destinations, and spotlighting African art, people, and ideas that often go unseen.
I create content that not only inspires people to travel but invites them to experience the soul of a place, its heritage, its people, its rhythm. Whether I’m on a press trip with a tourism board, working with conservation projects, or documenting life in remote communities, I’m driven by a single goal: to tell honest, human-centred stories that shift narratives and celebrate the richness of African life.
Currently, I’m building my new baby. A talent training and nurturing house that seeks to raise the next generation of purposeful African creative talents for global impact. I’m also working with non-profits on storytelling training programs for young African creatives and collaborating with brands that align with purposeful travel and cultural storytelling.
My work is rooted in the belief that Africa doesn’t need help or rebrandin; it needs amplification. And I’m honoured to be part of the generation doing just that.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Dishonesty and miscommunication
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
YES
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
YES
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Stop waiting for others to enjoy everything nature has to offer
