We’re looking forward to introducing you to Taurea Avant. Check out our conversation below.
Taurea , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Lately, my first 90 minutes start with me getting up and exercising for at least 30 minutes before I put anything in my stomach. The goal is to get my metabolism going right away. After that, I make my healthier version of coffee while listening to motivational audio on YouTube.
Depending on the day, I’ll either plug into a call with one of the verticals with the Atlanta Black Chambers, join a staff call, or log in to my computer at home and get to work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Taurea “Vision” Avant, and I help speakers, coaches, and network marketers use their book – or future book – to build a real, profitable business. I am the founder of BookRich Profits Club™, a coaching and community platform that teaches authors how to profit, promote, and perform with their books so they can create consistent $10,000+ months, not just book sales.
I also created Author Allstars Magazine™, an international publication that highlights 50 authors each year from multiple genres and countries, and T² Impact Network™, a media platform designed to give authors and experts more visibility through TV-style shows, interviews, and digital content.
What makes my work unique is that I don’t just focus on helping people write a book. I show them how to turn their story into stages, media, programs, and multiple income streams. As a two-time TEDx speaker who has spoken in more than 10 countries, I’ve built my brand by doing exactly what I teach. Right now, I’m focused on expanding Author Allstars Magazine™, BookRich Profits Club™, and T² Impact Network™ so more authors can become seen, paid, and in demand as the authority in their space.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
It was at my father’s celebration of life after his passing. Watching how many people showed up, cried, and shared stories about how he impacted them really stayed with me. It made me wonder if he ever truly knew the difference he made.
In that moment, I decided I never wanted to leave this world wondering about my own impact. I wanted to be intentional and know for sure that my life was making a difference.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I was in MLM, also known as network marketing, and at the time I was one of the top leaders in the company. To stay at that level, I was on calls all day, every day. I was doing in-home meetings, hotel meetings, and nonstop travel. I remember being at dinner and having to step away from the table just to take calls. One month I was in six different states and two countries working the business. The grind was real.
But with all that grinding, I hit a wall. I burned out and slipped into depression. My business started crumbling, my relationships were falling apart, and even my faith was shaken.
During that time, I watched a video about a young boy who lived his life as a girl and shared his story using note cards. I decided to do the same. I recorded a video, sharing my battle with depression, and posted it on YouTube. If you search “Taurea Avant depression,” you can still find it.
At that time, I was still a top leader, so posting that video meant pulling the mask off. I finally admitted that I was not okay and that I was functioning in depression. After I posted it, I turned my phone off. When I turned it back on the next day, I had hundreds of text messages and thousands of comments from people saying they were going through the same thing.
That moment changed everything. I knew I could no longer hide my pain. I chose to share it—and honestly, it was one of the most freeing things I’ve ever done.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
I make it my business to be the same person online, on stage, and in person. What you see is what you get with me. I share my weaknesses, my lessons, and the mistakes I’ve made just as openly as I share my wins and strengths. I never want people to feel like they’re only seeing a highlight reel, because real transformation comes from real stories. That level of honesty and consistency has allowed people to trust me on a deeper level, and I truly believe that’s what separates me as a leader and as a coach.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
Being 100% myself.
I love the woman I am and who I’m becoming. I no longer dim my light like I used to just to make other people feel comfortable. In the past, I would play small and downplay my accomplishments so no one “felt a way.” Now, I’m proud to share what I’ve done, where I am, and where I’m going.
I refuse to shrink back again. I’m moving forward, and I’m not looking back.
