Today we’d like to introduce you to Hardy Nimi.

With music that exudes good vibes, Hardy Nimi is delivering positive energy to audiences around the world. He can sing, he can dance, he can rap—Hardy Nimi is the full entertainment package. He experiments with style, exploring all aspects of sound, gaining versatility with the ability to hop on any genre. Hardy Nimi’s uplifting Afrobeats are a melodic escape into pure bliss. Raised on African traditions, Hardy Nimi grew up listening to Congolese musicians like Fally Ipupa and Zaïko Langa Langa. Hardy identifies as Black Swiss, originally from Congo, Africa, where both of his parents were born and raised. His parents moved to Switzerland 30 years ago, where Hardy was born. He has lived in Switzerland his whole life, currently based in Lucerne near Zürich. Hardy Nimi first learned about music from his mother, who sang Gospel. She used to take Hardy with her to rehearsals, where he listened to them practice. As he got older, he found a deep appreciation for hip-hop and R&B. Hardy was later exposed to Nigerian artists and Afrobeat artists, like Wizkid and Burna Boy, building a collection of multi-genre influences.

After performing a Lil Wayne song onstage at the age of 12 years old, Hardy Nimi knew he wanted to make music for a living. Hardy developed a confident stage presence from his time in a dance crew, naturally comfortable in the spotlight. As a young teenager, he began singing covers and posting them online. At 15 years old, Hardy recorded his first original song, “You Rock My World,” and uploaded it to YouTube, where it has since gained over 50,000 views. Around this time, he took a break from the public eye, but continued to create and record. Hardy Nimi made his comeback in 2016 with the release of “Mucho Guapo.” People went wild for the song, and the track was in heavy rotation at radio stations in Switzerland. After that release, he dropped his first official project, a hip-hop and R&B-styled EP titled So Excited.

In 2018, Hardy debuted his first Afrobeat song, “Mamacita,” followed by “My Beyoncé,” his biggest song to date, which reached over one million streams on Spotify. After the release of “MyBeyoncé,” Hardy experienced a wake-up call. People started to notice him on the street and magazines wanted to write articles about him. The feedback and attention were a sign that he could shift his passion for music from a hobby into a profession. His career has taken off, and Hardy has appeared for shows at the biggest venues in his local club scene. One of his favorite career highlights was opening up in Atlanta for Burna Boy. As a Swiss artist, to come to America and open for a big-name Afrobeat artist was a huge moment for Hardy. He is always working on new music, steadily recording fresh tracks. Hardy is currently sitting on an enormous catalog of unreleased songs. Fans eagerly await his next official drop, an anticipated new project to be unveiled later this year. Never too complicatedly lyrical, always relaxed and easy-going, Hardy Nimi is full of positive vibes. He writes about his family, his people, and God. Most of all, though, Hardy loves to write love songs. He connects with listeners on universal human experiences, raising spirits, and making others feel good. His work is relatable to people of all backgrounds. With a solid fan base centered in Europe, Hardy Nimi is expanding his reach to global audiences, establishing himself as an international artist. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Until now, it has been a smooth road. I’ve had some people who didn’t believe in me and told me to focus on my soccer career, but that didn’t affect me. From the moment I’ve decided to take the music seriously, I only had that goal in mind.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Never too complicatedly lyrical, always relaxed and easy-going. I’m full of positive vibes. I write about my family, my people, and God. I connect with listeners on universal human experiences, raising spirits, and making others feel good. My work is relatable to people of all backgrounds.

What were you like growing up?
When I was a kid, I was very active and full of energy. Growing up in a household that enjoyed a lot of music, I was very interested in music, but my first love was soccer. I was very talented and my dream was to become a professional soccer player. Over the years, interest in music increased and interest in football started decreasing.
