Today we’d like to introduce you to Kennedy Lucas Patterson.
Hi Kennedy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
So my story so far has been one roller coaster of a ride. I feel that my journey is far from over. From films, TV Shows, Production Shoots, Mini Tours, Film festivals to running one of the most interesting independent Media Labels here in Atlanta. But first, let me back up to the beginning of my journey. It all started back on April 10, 2010. Freshly new to the big ATL. I had no idea what our business plans were to have this start-up film studio. We had no money, no resources, and no business partners that could loan us any technology to form the business. We just started making amateur films and just uploading them to the internet. At that year, we did not know how to monetize our content to make money from our developments. Originally I was only a manager for what was called K.L.P Studios, so I wanted to find ways to grow the company and make it profitable.
In 2012, we had reached a peak of viewership in terms of our content development. We were getting views left and right as they were coming. One of our older shows, “Weekend Vlog” was a hit coming from a kid with a lack of skill in show production. Our films back then were awful but for some reason, people treated it as comedic content that they could have as entertainment. 2013-2014, we thought we were too big to fell. We then change our company model and business practices to a new level. We tested for new animation styles, talk show topics, and even plans to migrate to Winter Park, Florida as I got accepted to “Full Sail University” to study film. At that time, we made shows and films using the “Nintendo Mii’ Avatars and it worked. At that same time, our company wanted to study the works of photography as part of our media development. I learned from one of the best teachers, Mrs. Christina Conners-Anderson of Grayson Technical Program. She was a true master of the arts of photography. I’ve also made some friends in that industry as well. That’s when I had received an honorable award for best photography pieces that year. That award still sits on my mantle in my home till this day.
From there I thought I was on top of the world but… the year of 2015 happed. We called it the year the K.L.P brand has fallen into tragic. We were losing viewership, time, money, and ideas. This was the same time my parents split and it was a war zone of hate, sadness, hopelessness, cheating, agony. I will never forget the times our family has fought over and over with the same issues we’ve faced. At that moment, I wanted to give up on life itself as I faced depression and anger. I was broke and didn’t have much to go on to live. My “Full Sail University” chance was gone and I felt like I have failed in life. I wanted to end it all but I know that God had me in his mind and plans for me. After that year, I then realized that I have only me on my own team. I needed to find ways to rebuild and become independent as a young executive and a man. The fall of 2015 had come along and I was getting ready to start college at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville. That year was the year of a comeback. That year was the year the K.L.P Entertainment started to take shape.
While I worked on sports broadcast and production for the athletic department of GGC, Becoming Producer, Director, and even the first president of “Grizzlies Digital Network.” Matthew Mahony was one person that believes in my success and ambition. Mahony was the video coordinator for GDN of GGC Athletics and he saw me grow from different stages of sports production. I have work with him for five years and its been a journey. To travel to Denver, Colorado, down to Orange Beach, Alabama, has been one hell of a ride. While studying for my degree program, I worked to make our media label back to what is was and more. we started to record a podcast, radio shows, talk shows. As the years grow, so did our inventory of equipment that we needed to perfect the company. We work on our marketing side from our main website down to our cliental. 2016-2017 was the great year of us getting noticed. As I became a Resident Assistant for GGC, 2017 was the year that we had launched our very own magazine line of “Element Magazine of Atlanta”. In 2018, we needed to start merchandising our brand so that’s why we started designing our very own shoe line “The Kennedy Lucas Shoe Collection” and it became a very successful profit return as well.
After our shoes were sailing, we started to build an e-store to help keep up with the demand. 2018 was the start of our music record division. We’ve made so many tracks and records to stream on Spotify, IHeart Radio, Itunes, Pandora, Amazon Music, Audible and more. Our record label Swanky Records™ focused more on RnB, EDM, and even soul. We then thought about our radio shows & podcasts. In late 2018, we then started our podcast & radio shows to stream on the same audio platforms. Ever since then we have been booming in that field as google has recognized us as an elite station. we then had the idea to build an official radio station that will make us a lot of cash flow. Our two radio stations of “Swanky 93.3 Radio Station” & Live 94.6 “The Grizz” kicked off with a bang as over 50 international countries listen and tune in. When 2019 rolled in, I was getting closer of finishing my degree program. I wanted to go further to give back to the student body. I wanted to make history, so I created and hosted the first-ever podcast at Georgia Gwinnett College.
This was not done by anyone and to see that I was the first was amazing. Many students, professors, and even the president of the college were excited for this process. This was the same year that I help with some marketing material for the Star House Foundation in Roswell. I was in charge of video content for their non-profit organization. In the year of 2020, I wanted to explore and learn about book writing. I wanted to teach people about the radio/broadcast industry. I then decided to write a full book about not only my experiences but the idea of why radio works in today’s society. “Radio for the future” was a fun book to write and to called myself an author was a humbling experience. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and marketing, two of my hit films had struck gold in getting nominated for film festivals. I am still excited to say that I am nominated film director here in Atlanta. “Gaurdians” & “Storm Of Okra” were beautiful films with a creative eye for story telling and I know that this was not the end. Many more films of K.L.P Entertainment like “Profit” and “Ramses” also got nominated for awards. As the years continue, I’ve work with many artist, models, directors to keep up the momentum in our media business. K.L.P Entertainment became a household name that everyone knows today.
In this current year of 2021, as the ten years of CEO, I was still hungry for more. Just this year alone, we open four subsidiary film/animation studios to grow our media. We recently just bought another new studio. “RAW Pictures” and our new network “Comotion Gaming Network”-a streaming broadcast service that talks all about gaming related news. Horizon Pictures, Millennium Studios, FX Studios Of Atlanta, Dream World Entertainment were a beacon of success. These studios today work on our TV/Stream Style series and films for development. FX Studios, in particular, runs our two news/broadcast channels for audio platforms. These news stations of “News 10” & “News 24” were an excellent idea for cash flows and streaming monetizations. We get many clients that want to work with us for a photoshoot session book and I can proudly say that we are overbooked with clients. Our magazine is still booming with reads and ab sponsorships. My very own radio/podcast show “On Air w/ K.L.P” is getting great attraction that it deserves. Our Shows & Streaming series are impressive to the idea. This is my ever-growing empire and I am so blessed to be the great entrepreneur that I grew to be. I became a very successful person by just being independent and not letting negativity into my life. Trust me, I had to cut certain people out of my life that would bring me down. Some would say that my ambition is like a crazy mountain lion on its prey. Making money is a complete interest to me as I am an investor in certain projects & capital venture opportunities. So the question is now what’s next for me… well I will become a millionaire and continue to be happy. but for now, I heard that New York City is a huge market. “K.L.P Entertainment New York Branch” got a nice tone to it.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
After our downfall of 2015, we had lost a lot of viewership, sponsorships, and money. We’d had our highs and lows. That’s why as CEO, my mission is to bring our media label to great heights. I think our challenges are making sure we produce content that our viewers want to either listen, watch, or interact with. For example, we would make a film but we often ask ourselves, “is this film go enough?” “was this a good show or podcast?” “did our clients like their photoshoot?”
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

What matters most to you?
The one thing that matters to me is to be ambitious and becoming a very wealthy individual over the past years of me growing up and becoming a man. I’ve had many struggles. I was told that this business is a dime a dozen and it will fell. Some people have told me that I suck and should try something else. Back then I was bullied as a young teenager. I was called all sorts of names like “nerd”, “wussy,” or “overweight” so as I grow up, I decided to change my look by start going to the gym and living my best self. I have embraced myself in being a nerd because I like watching films, anime, and playing video games. In this marketing, I like to idea of enterprising and making money. Every time I’m in Atlanta, I see a lot of homelessness, so I work hard so I would not end up in that position every. I want to become very wealthy not because of materialistic things but to give back to the community. We do a great job at giving back what we can but I wish to go further beyond. Also, being a man of faith is very important to me. Having faith helps you achieve so much more in life. My grandma always said God rest her soul, “it’s where you’re going that matters, not where you at in this current time.”
